Ok So I have woke up in a VERY Disney mood

I am in full planning mode but unfortunatly have to work this morning.

So I thought lets have a bitof planning on here

So what things do you just HAVE to take on your wdw holiday?

And also what things do you really WANT to fetch back?

So i'll start...

When going to wdw I always have to make sure I have baby wipes in my hand luggage, to in case something sticky happens, I also carry what seems to be a chemist with me lol even though I know I can get everything in america.
I also have to take
Camera
Disney Dollars
A diary (I get lost on my days when Im away)
I can manage without anything else (apart from money and tickets) but if I forgot one of these we would have to turn around and get them.

and strangest of all I take washing tablets, even though I never wash wile away cant explain that at all....

So onto the shopping part, what I really want to fetch back this year are
a halloween costume for next years mnsshp (never bought an adult one before)
Always have to get the disney christmas cup from the christmas shop
antenna topper must have
wdcc peice providing that theres one I like
peanut butter m&ms 1!!!!mmm
halloween village peices
yankee candle

Now I would be very dissapointed if I didnt manage to get most of that list, and I do have to have a list so I dont over shop lol,

So what are you gonna buy? :yay: :yay:

Strange.....

One of my must takes is washing tablets for Colours (or is it colors) as I find the US powder has too much bleach.

Our other must takes are suntan mousse, as we always use the same one, and some very large empty suitcases.

Now what to buy......
This year I'll be helping myself to:
.. Armani jewellery
.. loads of clothes from Banana Republic, Macys, Guess .......
.. Shoes - I want boots but may struggle to find those although it'll not be through lack of trying)

DS/DD
- trainers (of course)
- Quiksilver and other surf stuff

DH
- Timberland work shoes (again)
- golf shoes (again)
- years supply of shirts/trousers for work (again)
- more golf T-shirts
- Oakleys (does he really need another pair)
- Levis

Strange how every year DH spends more than anyone else - but then he doesn't shop in the UK.

Just like us - My DW and I make up travel kits including this kind of stuff. Having three kids you never know when you're gonna need it! We take Calpol, plasters, mini-bandages - the works. The strange things is, apart from the baby wipes on the last two trips we haven't used ANYTHING from these kits on ourselves or our own kids. We've always been the ones handing things out to others on the plane / in the parks when you can see parents are struggling for any assistance they can get!

As for washing tablets - I've always thought it prudent to not take bags of white powder or substance through airport security checks! We would like to take some Fairy non-bio though as the washing powder they have in the USA isn't as nice as the stuff we get here. As we have a villa my DW is always washing clothes so that we come back with (virtually) clean clothes ready to iron and put away.

As for the things to bring back:
  • Nike shoes, T-shirts & basketball gear
  • Yet another American football shirt
  • College gear from Steve & Barrys at Festival Bay
  • Huge Disney mugs
  • Disney picture frames
  • A Christmas decoration for the tree
Oh, and even though I don't want to ... I always seem to bring back a mega credit card bill. Ah well, at least we have the memories!

im with you for the credit card bill!! :rotfl2:
Hershey bars especially smores bars, yumyum :lmao:
antenae sp? thing for cars
more mickey t shirts for hubby (how many disney t shirts does a 33yr old man need??)
cat collars as couldn t find any last time we were there (Anyone know where we can get some from??)
levis for db
xmas stuff (although did buy lots in the sale this year  )
oh, yes, perfume, makeup and a HUGE cc bill

fun though isn t it??
Tracy
xx

ps I woke up in a planning mood today, why does that happen sometimes?

cinnimon tic tacks
and cinnimon anything! LOL :rotfl2:

Why cant we have loads of cinnimon sweets over here?

We take teabags and DW has to take Nestle Cappuccinos, slimline leather bum bag for the parks and when we used to go with DD's an empty suitcase or two.

DW always buys Leila perfume from Norway at Epcot, and Tiffany perfume from Tiffany and Co at the Millenium Mall and the Yankee candle votive pack at Pointe Orlando and a few items of clothing
I buy Disney xmas tree medallions for each year we visit a few items of clothing and about 10lb of extra weight after eating American portions!

Out of interest I notice from this thread the possibility that people could go over the limit of £145 total for goods per person , do you declare this when returning?

Because it's pure, unadulterated evil that Americans (God bless 'em) sprinkle on everything! I tried three apple pies over there and all you could taste was cinnimon - I longed to get back to real apples, real pastry and above all, no added spices!

Of course everyone declares it. Don't forget each person gets the limit!!! :rotfl2:

We take tea bags, crisps and biscuits.

We bring back:

Christmas babbles with the year on. Last year I bought a the dwafts from snow white.
Clothing
E. L. face cream for wrinkly me!
Yankee Candles
Lego
Trainers for everyone.

I am taking a digital camera
maybe a dvdcamcorder (don't know about that yet)

Coming back with
dvds
clothes
christmas presents
I definatly will be bringin a glow in the dark disnsey night shirt back, and my sister says she will send me back if I don't get her some glow in the dark nail varnish.

The fact that we go out with virtually empty suitcases and come back fully laden might be a slight clue to our habits. Having said that, on all three trips we've never seen a customers officer - and just gone straight through the green channel.

If this country wasn't so expensive I wouldn't think about spending my money abroad!

White Powder???

I always take persil non-bio washing tablets as youngest DS is allergic to some & its not worth the risk of him getting a rash on holiday.
Haven't had any questions over this.

They sell Cinnamon tic tacs over here-I bought some just before Chrimbo "Winter warmer flavor"

I always have to take my little glasses repair kit-I live in fear of my glasses/sunglasses breaking whilst away-I would be stuffed without them!

I always buy new Chrimbo decs each year-my tree has all Disney figures on it (Apart from 1 Gromit and Shaun the sheep) i like to buy a new Disney china figure too, but its getting harder to find the ones I like. And I have to bring back Tropical fruit flavor skittles-yum yum yum yum yum :cheer2:

I thought o some more

(the truth being I have just got off department 56s website)
I would love to fetch back quite a few of the new halloween decs department 56 seem to be getting in, I hope they are out/have some left when I get there.

Also those cheesy poofs with the tiger on the frount mmmm ate them all holiday.

I always get my mum the dated christmas plate and bauble.

We generally take washing tablets not powder as well. Infact I bought it saturday lol.

My sentiments exactly, as far as I am aware I dont think this limit has changed for over 20 years, about time it did so that most people going abroad are not forced to break the law or pay punitive duty and VAT for bringing goods back to this country
