Disney Hiring Freeze

Thanks for the article - it will be interesting to see how crowded the parks are when we go at the end of April.

Thanks for the article. This falls in line with the $49 rates for rooms at WDW. However, I don't know how that can be reconciled with an increase in the cost for points if the market seems to be so soft. It seems to me that they would at least maintain the current price structure to encourage further sales, but what do I know? ;)

I think a lot of it will have to do with trending. If the current price will result in the points at VWL running out before year-end, then I bet they will increase the price.

I think it's a mistake to cut back on training. People have commented on cast members not having a clue about many things and this could be the reason why.

Looks like the country's "economic woes" have affected Disney just like most other corporations. Personally, I think the main reason we have these "economic woes", the term I hear so often, is because the news media keeps telling us we do.

Here's the info on Disney's job cuts:

Thanks for the info. I posted my question before I found this thread.
I would hate to think that they are going to cut back on training. One of the things that adds a lot of magic to the vacation is the CM's attitude. We have always had wonderful experiences, but after reading some of the posts, it's obvious that this is not a "given" anymore.
