Disney Hinting at New Themed Day at Sea cruises?

That isn't the type or quality of food served in the MDRs of DCL ships even now. There are a lot of options.

I'm aware of that. It wasn't my intention to imply that they did, but more to point out what our food preferences were, and that our son was looking for more interesting things, even at a very young age. We'd go out to dinner with other families and they would just crack up at the things that kid ate!

Everyone is different, and a lot of people love DCL's food. Good for them, but we don't think it's all that great and would definitely welcome a Food and Wine type offering.

My kids were very much like this when they were very young. Because I was a super picky eater as a child, I introduced them to all sorts of foods very early on. They would scarf down crab, mushrooms, cruciferous veggies, and all sorts of things most young kids don't like.

IMO, the MDR's do a pretty good job overall. Some meals are just "fine", others have a standout item or 2. If I order a "miss", I order something else and they have always been happy to bring it to me. I agree that the MDR's do not serve what I consider gourmet food for the most part, a few items not withstanding each cruise I have done.

When I want lovely food and service, I go to the adult restaurants onboard. It is such a vastly different experience in every way from the MDR's. LOVE that DCL has Palo! And Remy.

Btw, PensFan, what kind of doggie is that in your avatar? A standard poodle? Or? It's CUTE!!! Love me some doggies.....

I wondered about that! Both breeds are amazing dogs, and the standard poodles are not at all hyper like the little versions! He's awfully cute! Give him a scratch behind the ears for me. (sorry folks, I know this is off topic, but hey! It's because of a DOG! )

Wow! I don't think I remember that! Sounds funny to me, but there are those that love those villains!

We did SWDAS this past year. It was neat and all packed into a single day and overall a very fun experience.

My expectation would be that if the cruise was themed, it would be for the ENTIRE cruise, not just a single day. That could spread out the lines a little better, give you more options to see your favorite characters, see the specific experience for the theme more than once or at least have more than one option to see it. As it is, those days are VERY crammed with experience after experience. You can't see it all. That's NOT a LOT different than any other day on a cruise... However, I see it as giving the customers more of a chance to do all the things they want to do instead of cramming it into a single day on a *DAS cruise. Frankly, they could do even MORE with a themed cruise than what's packed into a single day anyway. Different Porg finds every day. Each day, the movie repeats instead of only being able to see it once on the cruise. 7 days, 7 movies...
