I am not sure what this is all about, but we are planning a family reunion with my brother and his family in Disney from June 26, 2005 to July 2, 2005. We are on a tight budget and need help finding any discounts, rooms, etc that are in the Walt Disney World resorts that we can afford. Thank-you for any help.:

You may want to consider renting a house offsite or renting points from a DVC member for an on site villa.

Also you can usually buy discounted tickets, I'm not sure where but check on the budget board here.

Check your Private Messages too.

Check the discount information on mousesaver.com.

mousesavers.com has tons of information on how to save $$$ at Disney. Also, peruse the boards here on "The Dis" as much as you can. You will find a wealth of information on tips, tricks and money saving ideas.

Whatever you plan to do, you had better hustle. Booking rooms for June could be difficult at this late date. Forget about DVC points, most DVC resorts are just about booked for June and July.

Somewhere offsite may be your best bet.

A few questions:

1) Have you booked a room yet?

2) What is your budget? ie. how much can you afford to spend per night on a hotel room? Have you ever been to Disney before?

3) Are you working on your own or do you have a travel agent? I highly recommend using Dream Come True Vacations or Dreams Unlimited.

As another poster said - you better move quick! June is filling up fast! In fact, they just posted extended hours for the Magic Kingdom.

Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Yes, we have a room reserved at a moderate resort and we are paying full price. The thing is, we have been to Disney twice in the last ten years, but my brother and his family have gone once about ten years ago. They have had a lot of bad luck of late--their son is diabetic--and my brother was caring for my Mom for the last five years and she passed away in January. This was a trip she always wanted us to take together, so we're trying! We could probably pay $100 a night each, even if we somehow came up with the money for them. Also, is there any way to get discounted admission tickets to Disney? I'm sorry for teoubling you, but thanks so much for your kindness.

Sincerely,

Sandy

don't know how many in each of your two families or if you have any children, but consider staying at a value resort (specifically, all star movies or pop century). Both are good hotels, still all the benefits of being onsite, and you'll save a couple of hundred dollars per room over the week stay. The value resorts are very "theme", but fun. And for the amount of time that you will actually stay there over the week...I say save the money! :earboy2:

Sign up for the newsletter on mousesavers.com. It will have the ticket prices for ticketmania.com. They have a small price break from disney prices. You definitely want to evaluate how much time you will be in the parks to see if you want to add the pluses, which are good for the water parks. Seeing as it's June/July, the water parks should be a great way to spend the day.

Consider staying off-site, you could get a nice hotel for a little less. Personally, I would stay at one of the value resorts before I would consider staying off-site.

You might also want to push off your trip into the value season. That would save you some money off the rack rate of the rooms.

Yes I too would consider a value or staying offsite too.

Or depending on how many in your family and if you like each other enough the cabins at Fort Wilderness might be an option. The sleep up to 6. So if more than that in both your families then that isn't an option. But if so it could save on some money as they are fully equiped with kitchens so you could cook some meals there and save $$ that way.
