Disney hates fat people and dogs!!

how odd huh? seems they make a lot of money off pets in general, i mean, many of their CM's are "pets" . LOL Goofy, for one. LOL

I've never had any trouble finding 2XL t-shirts at Disney. The pet related items probably didn't sell well. My cats didn't like the treats I bought them.

I am 6'3", and when I was pushing 450 lbs a few years ago  , I could not find anything 'official' in the 5XL range, which is understandable. Places like Walmart and JC Penney don't even caring those sizes in their 'plus' size selections.

While at WDW last June, I was at 310 lbs. I found several 3XL, and a few 2XL, that fit me very well. I purchased a 3XL shirt at Tatooine Traders, and a couple of 2XLs at Mouse Gear.

I also found a couple of 2XL shirts at a Disney Store in Lawrenceville, GA.

I used to go to a lot of different theme/amusement parks, and WDW is the most 'fatman' friendly park(s) that I have every visited. Shoot, I can't even fit in most of the rides at Six Flags, and had to get off a ride at Universal becuase the seat belt wouldn't go around me. :sad1: Which is a problem I have never had at a Disney park. :thumbsup2 Now at 450, I did't fit well in all the rides, but the cast members were very discrete about directing me to a seat that would accomodate me. :goodvibes

So, stating that Disney hates fat people is an extremely inaccurate and unfair statement.

I've noticed the decline in pet products as well and honestly I'm very surprised. People like me who's kids are the 4 legged variety are very spoiled and people in general are spending more and more money on their precious furbabies! It's definitely a market they should pay attention to.

Shadow at HHI would take issue with Disney being unfriendly pet wise. Heck, there are lots of pet related items at HHI featuring Shadow, even a shot glass.

We used to buy our dog a white mickey shaped stuffy every trip, it was kind of a treat for him after he spent time either at my parents house or at a kennel while we were at Disney. The last time we went we looked all over WDW for them, we couldnt find anything pet related. Finally I asked someone in the emporium if they still sold them. I swear the guy looked at me like i was crazy, he said if they had any pet related stuff they would be over at the firehouse.

We went over there and there was a ton of cat stuff and one little white dog stuffy, I think we got the last one that WDW ever sold. It's a shame you can't find things like that anymore.

I am looking for the Walt Disney World Resort black glitter t-shirt in 2xl for my sister. I have looked online and it is sold out or not available even in small sizes. Has anyone been to the park itself lately and seen these tee's in the resort stores? It is my favorite t-shirt and I always buy at least 2 of them (M size) when I visit. I will be extremely sad if they are phasing this tee out.:flower3:

 DH does find XXL shirts at times and his brother who is XXXL got his last WDW shirt made at the T shirt shop in DTD.

One of my main issues is the thin material. I am Ursula sized and wouldn't be caught dead in those thin tight shirts that hug every fold and leave nothing to the imagination. The last time I bought a shirt was in 2008. I still have it and wear it often. We have been 5 times since then. My focus is now collecting music when I go.

First it was gold charms---fazed those out...then clothing....gone...now music...getting harder to find soemthing new there too.

In regards to fat people clothes, its not a Disney thing, its a supply and demand thing. I have been a fat guy my whole life and always had to go above and beyond to find clothes that I like. Lets face it, M, L, and XL are much more popular sizes then XXL and XXXL.

But I do agree with the PP, I am starting to see bigger sizes in Disney now for the first time. It seems like I was able to find larger sizes in the resorts more then the parks. Larger meaning xxl & xxxl. I have never seen anything above a in Disney larger then 3xl.

And I absolutely believe that the above CM doesn't have access to anything larger then 2xl. ALL retailers are cutting back stocking their slower moving items. And with all the recent cutbacks at Disney im sure they are on top of inventory control as well.

I did see a 4x and 5x T in MouseGear at Epcot when I was there a few weeks ago. Mind you it was one style of shirt.
Im a 3x and found a couple but nothing desirable style wise compared to some of the great selections they have.
There is a market there and it's worth at least having a variety of styles.

A few years back I fell in love with a jacket, but couldn't find the 2xl anywhere in my size.

I asked the salesperson at WOD if they had 2xls anywhere as I saw that there were 3xls on the shelf. They found one in stock and brought it out to me in about 10 minutes.

If they don't have something on the shelves, don't hesitate to ask a salesperson. If they don't have one there in stock, they will be able to help you find it if it is somewhere on property! The people who man the phones at the merchandising number are super helpful as well!

I agree with WDW being larger person friendly. I'm barely 5'4" and about 196lbs, about 60-70lbs overweight for my height. I've been roughly this size for a 2-3 years and each year we visit an amusement park. I've barely fit on several rides (Top Thrill Dragster recently, thankfully I fit and it was amazing!:thumbsup2) a few times but at Disney I've never had an issue. My Dad is a larger fellow and he's never had an issue at Disney either!

Ah yes "babydoll" tees and shirts with cap sleeves and stuff like that suck! I am larger chested but I can generally fit into large womens shirts but I usually end up buying mens because they're more comfortable! Not tight and weirdly cut like a lot of womens clothing.

I've had good luck at World of Disney (DTD), Mouse Gears, and even at a resort (CBR) I stayed at. I find there are more choices than there used to be for larger sizes.

As a woman, I will sometimes go to the men's dept. - because their XXL is like a XXXL for women...cuts tend to be more generous, though on top (ahem) you have to check to make sure it's not too snug. I usually check the men's dept as often as I check the women's and have more luck there - I'm a sweatshirt girl.

I'm not fat, but I usually buy XXL because I'm really good at shrinking clothes in the laundry :rolleyes1 but I can usually find XXL. Have not seen XXXL though.

My hubby is roughly the same size as the original poster, but very short waisted, so tall sizes are required, or you get the plumber's butt. Can't find them even on line. Shame.
