Disney has the gall to charge FULL PRICE for Theme Park Tickets while offering a fraction of the normal experience?!!

Does anyone else think it is inappropriate for Disney to charge full price for roughly a quarter of the normal Disneyworld experience? At the very least it seems like they're taking advantage of people and sadly it will probably hurt them as a business in the end. It resembles a "bait and switch" scenario. Most of us have wonderful memories of past WDW vacations and are desperate for a bit of normalcy and joy right now. So it's understandable that some people might flock back to their "Happy Place". However, what Disney is offering right now at FULL PRICE does not even come close to the pre-shutdown experience. (No fireworks, no parades, no Buffets and very few restaurants, no shows, no park hopping, no character meets, and many closed rides). Additionally, in order to go to WDW you must sign a waiver saying you will not sue Disney if you contract Covid-19 while you are there! Hmm, sounds like a true bargain... but NOT for me, thanks.

I honestly didn’t read the entire post but my first reaction was .. Disney is a WANT and not a need, it’s a Choice... save ur money, bank points, use every offer they are giving to make it work the best it can for you. This Unprecedented COVID nightmare was thrust on us... everyone is Trying to do the best they can. have a good day!

Like a lot of companies who serve the public I suspect that they have to spend a lot of money on health and safety measures not seen by the general public so they can open their doors.

I'm certainly sympathetic to your general premis, however Disney is pretty clear to advertise that not all things are open, will be different experience etc. So, I wouldn't really fault Disney there, however, it is a choice and with no park hopping, reduced park hours etc etc I'm not feeling enticed to go, personally.

It’s not for me at this time either, but I think Disney should charge what they want. They’ve been up front with closures. Go or don’t go at their price. Everyone has a choice.

I don't think it's worth the price at all, so I'm very thankful my father was able to purchase discounted Military Salute tickets right now. I would have never paid full price for 6 day tickets under current conditions.

However, I think Disney has been pretty upfront about the changes and closures. If people are willing to pay the price anyways, they know what they're getting into.

My son and his friends arrived yesterday. They are having a blast. I can 100% assure you none of them feel as if they are getting ripped off.

Others might feel differently about what is available right now, and they should obviously stay home. No one is forcing anyone to go to Disney. As others have mentioned, Disney has been extremely clear about what is and isn't available, so there is no bait and switch.

I agree that Disney world is t worth the price tag right now which is the reason I will not go back until things go back to normal.

On the flip side, if Disney were to offer guests $99 a night at the Grand Floridian and a weeks worth of park passes for let’s say $400, they would be overrun with people willing to book at those prices (me included)

They don’t want more people coming for less money when there are plenty of people who are willing to pay full price.

Exactly. I am looking forward to low crowds. There is enough open for me and my husband to enjoy. I booked some good dining options and looking forward to an uncrowded POLY in September. 😬 We even booked a private fishing excursion.
