Disney Golf Carts or Not?

My DH spoke with Kim today and got one rented for Spring Break (Easter week) for $224 - can't beat that!!! Thanks so much to the DIS!

Great to hear folks are still getting in touch with Kenny. :thumbsup2

Maleficient - your avatar is adorable! :goodvibes

Thanks BradyBz12 - those are borders in your sig? I followed your thread on the 3 year old in the dog park.... made me crazy so I didn't post to make people mad! My 10 month old aussie would lick any kid to death - BUT - can't be trusted not to bite if provoked, or herded into a heap with the force of a 45 pound wall of bricks! I monitor my 6 year old with him at all times and Ranger grew up with him from 8 weeks!

Anyway....talked to Kenny himself today and everything is a go for Easter week! :woohoo:

I know that all too well!! :lmao:

Glad to hear Kenny got you all sorted out. Have a terrific trip!

We love having a golf cart and would not go without one. We have rented from Disney on past trips, but are going to rent from Kenny for our trip in October. We are staying for two weeks and I just can not justify the price for the disney rental. We will save hundreds of dollars by going with Kenny. Of course that money will go to Disney in other ways, but I'd much rather have the golf cart, some souveniers, a few nice meals, etc. than just the golf cart.

As far as Disney not allowing him to deliver there, I can not see how they could do that. I know it has been discussed before, but there are plenty of other companies that make deliveries to disney property. People have strollers delivered to them, even though you can rent them from disney; people have motor scooters delivered to them, even though you can rent them from disney; people have groceries delivered to them, even though you can buy food on disney property. I love Disney, and trust me they get plenty of my money, but where does it stop when they have to dictate where I spend my money.

Talked to Kenny this morning and am set up for Spring Break. This will be my first camping trip and I'd rather have it and not need it than...

Next time, if I decide I can do without, I'll be bale to make a more informed decision. I'm looking forward to vacation!

Why is the other golf cart rental agency not allowed to deliver on-site (I heard you have to rent a trailer and pick it up yourself) but Tee Time is able to do so? Can Disney stop outside rentals from coming in? I have booked with Kenny but just wondering if there could be any surprises...

General consensus is that GCE was making it way too obvious that they were "doing business" on Disney property by coming in with a big lettered company truck and several carts at a time.

Disney certainly can decide to kick anyone out at any time (or more correctly, not allow them in). We're all just hoping and praying that Kenny will continue to fly under the radar.

I thought I read in an earlier post that someone who was having a cart delivered said that a Disney employee ran out to Kenny and told him he could not deliver to Ft. Wilderness and took a picture of his tag. If this happened and he got a verbal warning, their next step will be to call the Orange County Sheriff and have him trespassed from the property Then the only option will be to rent a trailer and bring the cart in yourself.

For the love of Peter, Paul and Mary would somebody please just put Kenny on the ressie and let him bring the cart to the site please.

And please do it before November so I know for sure it will work. ;)

I just booked with Kenny today for our trip at the end of March. We used him last year and highly recommend. I sure hope there are no problems with delivery this year. I definitely can add him to our reservation so he is welcome at our site!

I haven't rented from Kenny, yet...
BUT if Disney has a problem with his deliveries,
then they need to stop the pressure washing companies too!

Just my 2cents

We had our fifth wheel washed by one of those companies last summer when we were there. I got talking to the owner and he said Disney was ok with them coming in as long as the followed some rules including start/stop times. He said he had a good working relationship with Disney management so there was no problems with them coming in to offer the service. Let's just hope Disney doesn't start offering that service...can't imagine what they would charge!

I am at the fort this week and rented from Kenny. We dud have a small problem- one of his carts got totalled and he was sold out for the week. He had a repair person come out and fix up one of his broken carts and got it to us 5 hours later. He gave us a good deal due to us having to wait. We had dinner reservations at the Hoop de do, so he came in and dropped the cart off at our cabin and left the key under the seat. The cart is great and we will definately rent from Kenny again. He felt so bad, but ASCII said to him, no worries, we are in Disney! Oh, I mentioned to him about adding him to our reservation and he said there was no reason to do that. He comes here all of the time, and they know him at the gate. He will nothave any issues and if he does, he will just say he is eating dinner there.

Oh, and my hubby was not 100% on board with "needing" a golf cart, but after the non stop drizzle today, he agreed with me. Get the cart if you are on the fence about it!

Just my two cents , but,
I would like to see Disney start doing pressure washing,,at least that way it would cost so much no one would do it.

Or they could just wash your rig while your in the check in line they would have plenty of time. It could be a perk for staying in a premium site.
