We have left things like phone chargers in motels before and , of course, never saw them again. We were at POP the last week of September. After being picked up at the airport by ex son in law, my daughter inquired whether I picked up the camcorder (belongs to said ex son in law) charger. It was plugged in the wall underneath the table. Nope, no one got it. Ex son in law's comment was "you'll never see that again" Would you like to bet on that son? We called Lost and Found and left a message. A week later we get a postcard in the mail saying we have left something. I called and ,yep, it's the charger. Today it arrived :cool1: I will have to brag to everyone I know who just doesn't understand what Disney Magic is all about.

Judy,

Great to hear that you got it back. Those who don't believe in it, will never understand disney magic.

Once DW left her new pins and her traders in the safe at our room at Riverside. Made a call, and they said they would check in to it.

A week later, a small heavy box arrived with all the pins and we didn't even have to pay for the postage.

DW had written them off but Disney came through!

In 1983 I left DHs expensive camera in a MK restroom. I noticed about an hour later, went back and it was gone. Went to Lost and found and filled out a report. No sign of it several days later.
I had a knock on my door 4 months later. UPS guy with the camera.
I could not believe it. It took them awhile, but I was so happy Disney had employees who were caring and honest enough to do the right thing.
That experience was one of my reasons I fell in love with Disney.

Way back in '78 when we were kids and just visiting the MK, my sister lost her newly purchased Mickey wallet with 2 whole dollars. (A fortune to us kids.)

A week after we got home she got a special, unexpected package from Mickey. It was her wallet with an enclosed check for $2.

We never forgot it.

A couple years ago my SIL rode Space Mountain with her then 6 yo daughter. Duaghter took off her pink Minnie cap and sat on it during the ride. Of course, she forgot all about it and left it on the ride. They went to a CM to ask if it was possible to get it back but the ride vehicle had already taken off. So CM walks them down to the gift shop and buys her a new hat. Disney CMs are the best the world!!!

I left my umbrella in the Pooh ride and immediatly went back for it. The CM's were so nice. It was a very uncrowded and rainy day. We had to look at every car that went by and a CM stood with me and eventually the car came by. They were just so pleasant! No attitude with the silly lady who forgot her umbrella, just plain helpful. :flower:

This happened about 3 years ago. I had had my normal 1st week of December trip and about 2 weeks after I got home was a box sitting on my porch from WDW. Not remembering leaving anything had to open it immediately. Inside were a new pair of the brightest red womens dress shoes with 2 inch heals. For the next 5 minutes I was laughing so hard could not open the front door. The more I thought about it was very lucky that I am single and live alone in my house. Could imagine if married and wife opened the box ....rickey you got so splaning to do..... They are still on the "Strange" Disney shelf in my office as a reminder how far Disney will go to make a guest happy or at least smile years after the visit..

To small things from our last trip. We left our backpack at the bus depot at POR. We called the desk from the bus on our cell. They went out and got it (it was still sitting where we left it) and put it in our room for us. Called us and let us so we didn't rush back to the resort. The other time my son had lost a one of his pins. We went to the general store at POR and asked if anyone had turned it in. I thought it was a waste of time but gave it gave it a try. No one turned it in but they searched all their CM lanyards untill they found another pin like the one he lost and then just gave it to him.

We forgot our very large toiletry bag in the bathroom of our room at the CR. Before we even knew it was missing it was on its way home to us, they shipped it back. Found out when I called housekeeping, they had a record of what had happened. Pretty cool. :wizard:

When we returned home from our October trip to AKL last year, there was a message on our machine from staff there saying we had left some clothing behind in our room and to call to let them know if we would like them to ship it back. Um, yes thanks! We had left an entire drawer of clothes there! Four bathing suits, some shorts, a pair of jeans...my DH called the next morning and Disney sent it all back to us free of charge. Thanks Disney! (I'll be double checking the drawers next trip!)

Update on the shoes.
They were not mine I was on a solo trip but housekeeping must have found them in the room after I left from a previous person or maybe the next people in the room. It just struck me funny that they went to all that trouble to send shoes.

About 7 years ago we stayed CBR. We rented the bike surrey's and went for a ride. Well, later that night we realized that DH had lost his wallet. It had money, credit cards, ID, ect. I was thinking great now what do we do? We went back along the trails to see if it was there. Along the way, we asked a CM about his wallet. The CM steered us towards the gift shop for lost and found. I was thinking sure it will be there. Not. Anyway, guess what? It was there with everything in it!!!! A man had turned it in after he found it on one of the trails. I wish he had left his address so we could pay back some of his kindness. Disney is great!

Several years ago my DD noticed about 150 miles from WDW on our way home that she did not have her wallet. She was about 12 and had to have a state ID to attend summer courses at a university and this was in the wallet along with about $75.00 cash. I had the room card in my purse and called ASMovies on the cell phone. They had me hold while someone checked the room. CM came back on the line and told me they had it and would FedEx it free of charge. About 10 days later we rec'd a card in the mail that we had an unclaimed item in lost and found and needed to contact ASMovies resort. I called and they had to have my permission to either FedEx it with the cash inside or they could turn in the cash and place a check in the wallet for my safety. I had them just ship it with the cash and it was rec'd in a day or two. This is why I will never ever stay anywhere but on site. Even the value resorts have the type of service that I just haven't found anywhere else. Thanks for this thread, I'm glad I got to brag about excellent Disney service.

In a way this is about a lost item, but it couldn't be returned. Last year, my dd lost a lens in her prescription glasses after being kicked in the face at Typhoon Lagoon. After checking with the CMs I realized there was little chance of recovering the lens, so I knew that we would have to get her another pair as her vision is so poor she couldn't go a week without them. So we returned to the room and contacted guest services. They could not have been more accomodating. They found a Lenscrafters at the local mall, and offered to arrange transportation to take us there. We had a rental car so instead they gave us detailed directions on how to get to the mall and followed up to make sure everything had worked out alright. They made a really stressful situation so much easier for me. I wouldn't consider staying offsite. I love Disney!!

When my daughter was six we stayed at CBR. We always carried a soft lunch type zippered bag for her with her Disney plastic figurines. She would play with those in the airport, car atc. We left the bag in the van that brought us to our room in Aruba. Have an hour later there was a knock on the door-who could that be I thought> It was a very cute college kid standing in the door holding that little bag of figurines! I didn;'t even realize we had left it behind. My daughtewr was thrilled!

On the same trip, daughter and I went to the mian pool to swim while hubby stayed and napped in room. As we approached our building, hubby calls out, you left your credit card at the pool bar. No I didn't, I didn;t use my card, well it's there he replied. It had fallen out of my bag, a CM found it and turned it into the pool bar, they called the front desk, to find out where I was staying and informed my husband where the card was.

Thats the Disney magic I love! :Pinkbounc

Since she was kicked in the face and her glasses broke, did someone offer to pay for the lens? I hope so. Lenses can be very expensive! Mine are no line bifocals, super scratch resistance and anti- glare. I would be very upset is someone broke my glasses and didn;t offer to pay for a replacement lens.

It was nice of DW to help you find a lenscrafters though. I too am sun up to sun down with glasses so I always keep an older pair to take with me, just in case.

No, it was one of those things where the giant wave comes crashing through, and a young boy kicked her. I didn't even pursue it as she really should have taken them off when we told her to. It is a mistake she will not repeat.
