Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

:rotfl: So is that the weekend you are going?! That would be so neat.

You used to go in January all the time, right? I think I am remembering correctly.

Yes, I used to go in January a lot. Pretty much every year I was in college, actually. Because of the long winter break, it was so easy to just jet down there, plus when I used to work for the Disney Store free admission, and when I didn't, I would just get an AP. In addition to that, airfare then was so cheap, so it was great, I loved going then.

It's funny how we change though, now I love going during September, love the heat, and love swimming with my son, you know?

Anyway, to answer I have no idea which weekend Mom and I are going. Basically we're hoping for a really good AP rate on a deluxe, so we'll have to see how it all pans out.

I love your resortitis chapter! Not because you had resortitis, that's no fun, but I love how you're including the warm fuzzies at the end. And to my mind, you cannot go wrong with Pop. It's just a great resort. :thumbsup2

I was worried when I went on vacation and could not find ur old PTR. Congrats on Jan and Jen! Lots of luck for ur surgery-thats my anniversary. Can't wait to follow along.

OH...I do love Pop...if this is the resort we do ended up staying at it will be my 3rd time and I have never had an issue!!!! It's a great resort!!

Okay I just totally smiled when I read your warm fuzzy and I was so taken for a moment to Soarin which is an amazing ride!! I know that I love the smell of those groves and I always say AWWWWW when it gets to that part!! Great warm fuzzy!!!
Pop is a great resort. I just have a slight obsession with Riverside as you well know.

:lovestruc LOVE :lovestruc your idea of sharing a WDW warm fuzzie with every update. That is PERFECT!

Pop sounds like fun. I'm going to ignore the fact that you were both born in the eighties! :faint: ;)

:woohoo: for APs, AP rates, and multiple trips in 2010! :yay:

May I share one of my fuzzies? :flower3:

"Por favor, mantengense alejado de las puertas..." :cloud9:

I love our Warm Fuzzy moments because that is exactly how I feel about Disney.

Yes, please do share your own Warm Fuzzies!! I meant to put that in there too!

I've been neglecting the DIS lately, but I'm hear, I'm hear!!!!:banana:

Disney gives me the warm fuzzies too. :lovestruc
Yay! You are here!

Love the idea of warm fuzzies, I've never road Soarin' :confused3:scared1:
But hope to on my trip in March :thumbsup2:)

I've heard many great things about POP :thumbsup2 Plan to stay there one day, some time in my future
You must must must ride Soarin', it is one of the BEST rides!!

I didn't realize that you started your new PTR already! I'm so glad that you are able to go in January AND go with Jen again. We went in January a few times and it was really nice. I'm excited to be counting down your trip with you -- it will make February come a little faster. :)

I also love the idea of posting your Disney warm fuzzies, such a great idea. Can't wait for more!
I'm really looking forward to the January weather, much better than May and September I think!

Mmmm, do I detect a possible split stay coming up? I know you were reaaaally wanting to stay there......

I literally groaned out loud when I read that..... :headache:

I'm so looking forward to listening for that!

Ahhhhhhhhh.... I always smell deeply at that part of Soarin. Love the warm fuzzies!

No split stay! :lmao: I need to resist that. Okay...we were born in 1982! Hardly the 80's, so there.

You sound very happy with your decision. January should be great weatherwise. I hope the surgery is all that you want it to be and you will feel ready and raring to go when trip time comes!

Pop was good to us again on this trip. We have stayed in every decade now - 60's was our last one - and some of them we've done multiple times. I'm not convinced that decision is going to last long, though, if discounts come out.

Happy planning! :woohoo:
I am happy with my decision. When I was thinking of Pop I thought about how much the MeMom loves Pop too. Made making my Pop decision a bit easier too. :thumbsup2

Pop is a super fun resort -- you two will have a blast there!

I love your warm fuzzies. Here's mine for the day: the rocking chairs by the firepit at AKL. ;)
Ahhhh, rocking chairs by the AKL firepit sounds heavenly!

I love the way smells can give you that warm fuzzy feeling at Disney. I really like it when you are somewhere in your own hometown and some certain smell can make you think of Disney!!!! Just for that split second you can practically see Mainstreet. :)

We planned on staying at POP when we go in October. But sometimes being on these boards gives you these silly, silly ideas. LOL Before I knew it, I had upgraded to Port Orleans French Quarter. :)
The DIS give you silly ideas? Noooooo! I don't believe it.

Ah.. the oranges on Soarin'---- for sure give me warm fuzzies. I might have to go and put my Disney CD in, close my eyes and go there!
Oh yes, I would like to do that too!

OK...I'm good with the plan as long as you guys have a Pina Colava at Petals in celebration of my (GULP) 33rd bday when you arrive!!!
No more alcohol after surgery. :rolleyes1 I'll make Jen drink one.

I'm in again!

I love your warm fuzzies idea...definitely agree with the orange smell on Soarin. :thumbsup2:goodvibes
Hi!! I've been reading along with your PTR, just no time to post! I'm sorry.

I love the Disney warm fuzzies...:cloud9:

The gargoyles whisper??? I love HM and I didn't know that-like you can actually hear what they're saying???:confused3

::yes::Mmmm...orange....:goodvibes

Yes, it was a very cool trick that Jen showed me. If you stand back and wait to exit out of the stretching room they whisper and hiss, very cool. :thumbsup2

Yes, I don't think I'll get much swimming in when we are there. Oh well.

I am loving the warm fuzzies, I like thinking about them!

I was worried when I went on vacation and could not find ur old PTR. Congrats on Jan and Jen! Lots of luck for ur surgery-thats my anniversary. Can't wait to follow along.

Thanks for finding me again!!

LOL!!! I don't think I'll be doing too much drinking either LOL!!!! How about I toast to you with my bottle of water during Wishes LOL!!!

I've been stuck at the receptionist desk the last two days at work so that is why I am updating so much.

Anyhoo....

What's the most wonderful time of the year, you ask?

I'll tell you!

The time when Leslie starts obsessing over her vacation time for the next calendar year!

I have problems, I know I do. I'm a happier person when I can gaze at a calendar and know when I won't be working.

Where I work, I receive three weeks of vacation. Two of those weeks have to be taken together. The other week I can take however I choose. I also get one floating holiday for Patriot's Day that I can take at anytime. I might also get one for 4th of July next year because it falls on a Sunday but I'm not counting on that one. Since I have canceled my September 2009 trip, I have two vacation days that I will be carrying over to 2010.

Which leaves me with 18 vacation days to play with. That makes me giddy! Not to mention that I get all of the major holidays off as well.

I love typing this all out to you all, it makes much more sense to me when it's all written out. Thanks for listening to my drivel and it's very much trip related...trust me.

For the Jan. 2010 Trip I will be taking off Thursday January 14th, Friday January 15th and Tuesday January 19th = 3 Vacation Days. Monday is MLK Day so I have that off already.

Monday May 31st is a Memorial Day and a paid day off for me so I would take Tuesday June 1 - Friday June 4th = 4 Vacation Days.

I think it's cruel and unusual punishment to work on your Birthday so I will be taking off Friday September 3rd = 1 Vacation Day.

In November I will take off, Monday November 8th - Friday November 19th for a grand total of = 9 Vacation Days. Thursday November 11th is Veteran's Day which is another holiday here.

So why did I type out all those Vacation days....so you can all convince me to add another day to my January 2010 trip! Hehe! I think I might do it. Responsible Leslie should probably just leave that day floating around for emergencies or whatnot but what is the fun in that!?! That is what personal and sick days are for!! ;)

I think 6 nights at Disney sounds so much better than 5 nights!

Hmm...I think I have enabled myself to add another day in January. Hmmm...

Warm Fuzzies:

Jen: The smell of popcorn when you first enter Main Street.

LL: Boat Transportation. I think it's much more glamorous & relaxing to arrive at your destination via Boat than any other way. ;)

**************************************************
Surgery Update: I had another appointment today and lost another 6lbs...that makes a grand total of 18.4lbs since July 6th! :dance3:

I'm really, really proud of myself! So my surgery date is for certain, August 26th! 15 days! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!

I'm nervous/excited at the same time.

Good for you on the weight loss!

You know what I always say, more time in Disney is better. Yes, I'm enabling. I know you love me for it. ;)

As long as you're confident that you won't be robbing yourself of some flex time if you got sick or anything, then I'd just go for it. It's nice to say, I'm spending a week in Disney. :thumbsup2

Ok... hold out your arm. About shoulder height is good, straight out from the side of your body. Stretch your fingers out.... now don't flinch while I gently twist your arm ..... "Take the extra day."

Jen, btw just wanna say I'm loving your new ticker :thumbsup2

Loved this update!!! I'm so excited for you!!! I know you will love having an extra day and 6 nights at Disney does sound so MUCH better so I agree you should take the day off!!! I wish I could take more time off and join you but I would have to play sick LOL!!!!

I also meant to say CONGRATS on your weight loss!!!! That is fantastic LL!!!

I agree with all the previous posts, no brainer here  - just take the extra day, :lmao:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 on the weight loss

Awesome news on the weight loss!
Are you going back to Disney over Memorial Day? Just wondering...:rolleyes1

It makes so much more sense to add an extra night to your Disney trip -- after all, 6 nights equals seven days which is a week -- 5 nights just sounds like a long weekend. ;) C'mon -- you know you want to!

Congrats on the weight loss! I am super excited for you!

LOL!!! I don't think I'll be doing too much drinking either LOL!!!! How about I toast to you with my bottle of water during Wishes LOL!!!
Oh come on!! I have to live vicariously through you. :rotfl2:

I wouldn't be robbing myself...my sick and personal time is different then my vacation time. I think if we get a killer AP rate then I will absolutely add the day. I have put it in with my time off request "just in case". :rolleyes1

Yes, 6 days sounds much better. Well, I can give you lessons on sick voices so you can play sick. :rolleyes1

LL, do the responsible thing! Take the extra day for Disney!;)
:rotfl: Yes, it does seem like the responsible thing to do, doesn't it? Hehe!

I agree with all the previous posts, no brainer here  - just take the extra day, :lmao:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 on the weight loss
Thanks!

Nope. Not planning on going back over Memorial Day. Why...are you?

Congrats on the weight loss! I am super excited for you!
Yes, a week does sound very good indeed!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I know how difficult it is. 18 lbs is quite an accomplishment!!

I say go for the extra day!! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the weight loss my dear!!! WAY TO GO!!! Of COURSE you WILL take the extra day......YOU WILL!!!!! (Do you think my powers of persuasion work over message boards too?!?!?!)

Page 4, but I'm here! :goodvibes

Of course I hope you're prepared to be the only one night swimming...because Leslie if you think I'm getting anywhere near a pool in January in Florida you have another thing coming...if you recall from my last January trip...ummm I wore a hoodie the whole time and I might have even wore gloves!!!

Last January was insanely cold!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I hope it's not THAT cold for you guys in 2010.

Jen: The sound of the whispering gargoyles as you exit the stretching room in the Haunted Mansion.

Okay, its ONLY in Disney World that whispering gargoyles can give anyone a warm fuzzy! :scared1: :lmao:

And :woohoo: for Pop! We'll see if you stick there though...;)

Hmm...I think I have enabled myself to add another day in January. Hmmm...

:rotfl2: LL, this is a whole new level of Disney Addiction I think...:thumbsup2
