Disney Giftcards @ Resorts?

Are Disney giftcards accepted at the Disney Resorts or can you only use them inside the theme parks? Thank you in advance for your help.

we buy them from target(5%off with red card) and use them to pay for our resort and our big meals...it's doesn't save much money, but it still saves.
