Disney gift cards

To be honest, I'm not sure but I was under the impression you could only get them if you had a US address. My kids were given some by my SIL last year and she had to get her sister in America to buy them and post them out.

Unfortunately, Disney gift cards are only available to be sent to a USA address. I knew I couldn't get them sent to me here in Australia, so I ordered what I wanted and had them sent to our hotel! They were waiting for us when we got there..................it was like having money in the bank:thumbsup2

Australian people can buy gift cards through the disneyworld sight, where you buy park tickets. I assume NZ people can as well. You don't have a great range to choose from but you can get some. We buy them in advance when the exchange rate is great as it is now.

Great! Thanks for sharing. I just did a dummy trial on the Disney World website, and NZ came up as a postal country.

I'm going to buy a few each month as I can afford them. Also, I know now what to suggest to my son's grandparents for his birthday present. :thumbsup2

I have bought gift cards before and had them shipped to Australia no problems. Well there were problems, they ended up sending them twice :lmao: Then when I told them they gave me some special fastpasses for the trouble :confused3

Anyway I ordered them on the WDW site at the same time I bought the MNSSHP tickets not through the Disney Store.

Funny. Free money from Disney. Did they ask you to post the second set of gift cards back?

Also, did they send you paper tickets for MNSSHP or were they print at home e-tickets?

They actually cancelled one set of gift cards. If I hadn't told them they may not have known they did it. But I just couldn't take the extras and spend them and didn't want to take some and then they had realised and cancelled them and I tried to use them. It was $700 in gift cards, so I received $1400 in gift cards :scared1: If it was only $20 or $25 I may not have said anything, but I couldn't have kept an extra $700 in gift cards (although I would have loved to :lmao: ).

They sent the paper tickets for MNSSHP, separately, they come from different departments I was told, but I did order the tickets and gift cards in one transaction. I think you can print the tickets out now, but you couldn't a couple of years ago.

Thanks all will definitely give Disney World a go for the gift cards. Will buy some each month which will give us a nice stash by January, i will need plenty to feed 6 of us plus souvineers

We were going to use ours on our last trip but never ended up doing so, so we still have them. I think we somehow forgot, or it was just easier paying tips in cash with free dining. They're paying off the next trip at the moment.

So you can buy them and not use them and they can be considered an investment for the future :D
I think of them as a mini dvc, without the 40 years. :P

Can someone please post a link to where they purchased their gift cards from, I cant find where I can purchase them and have them sent to me in Australia!

I don't think you can anymore. I'm sure I read somewhere that they've stopped sending them to Australia.
