I want to order a Disney gift card to give to my boyfriend in his birthday card (we are going to Disney instead of giving each other gifts this year) and Disney wants to charge $25 to ship a $25 gift card. any advice on getting a Disney gift card in canada without paying ridiculous shipping fees?

Have you thought of making your own "gift card" with images online -- a coupon for one $25 shopping spree. I've done that for my DDs before. You could then get an actual gift card at the hotel or airport when you get to Florida if you still wanted to go the card route.

I would but I like the actual physical card. He will try and convince me not to give it to him at a later date

The main problem is that they can't sell them in Canada as it is an exchange in currency. Even if they are adding the shipping when you try and actually check out the site will tell you that they can not send it to you.

Yup, what the PP said.

You can't get Disney Gift Cards in Canada. You can't get them through the website as they will not ship them to Canada.

If you make a trip to the US before your trip you can buy one then. I wanted to get each of my kids one, but I can't do it right now. I'm gonna go to Minneapolis this summer and visit the Disney store in MOA and get them then.

Not true. I think you are talking about the disneystore.com website. As mentioned, you CAN order them through disneyland.com on their ticket page. Have done so no problem. You can even call them and sometimes they don't charge you! ... There was a thread about this before.

Here it is. Someone got it shipped for free. My brother ordered them for all the neices and nephews for Christmas using the website and paying for shipping no problem:

I came across that doing a search on the Disney store site as well, I was just quoting as to why the Disney store can't do that. Both Disneyland and Disney World do exchanges regularly with there travel companies and also on site so they may be allowed to do this online as well.

What is your time frame? You can get a Disney Gift Card as a 'reward' for completing surveys, etc. on QuickRewards Net. If you can earn a card, you are good to go. They ship the card to Canada at no charge.

I am going to call tomorrow otherwise I will try the Disneyland website.

I really don't have time for rewards. I tend to ignore the Internet for days at a time when I am in school which starts tomorrow again.

No, but I will definitely try

Results:
Online is $25 to ship from Disneyland. Disneyland via phone will not ship.
