Yes, we do it all the time. I hate to carry cash, but don't want a credit bill waiting for me when I get home. I always buy a few gift cards before we go just to use for dining tips.

That's good to know! I would rather do that than carry cash with me for all our meals even though we will be using the DDP.

Can you charge the tips to your room and then use a Disney Gift Card to pay that bill off?

I would rather do that than try and remember how much is on the gift card everyday and having to tell the sever what I want to tip. I'll feel uncomfortable and over-tip.

On the bill is place to write in the amount of the tip. Just write in the amount you want and when the waiter come for the bill, just tell him you want to use the gift card for his gratuity. It's never been a problem.

You can, but I like knowing how much I've got left on the card. If using a gift card, when the waiter brings your receipt he will have you sign the gift card receipt as well as the receipt for the rest of the meal. On the bottom of that gift card receipt it will show how much he took off and also how much is left on it.

You sure can. Just double check by calling the restaurant or Disney Dining directly if you are unsure about a restaurant. Try the "allears" site they always have current restaurant info.

Yes....and it works great . We did this for the first time in December and it worked out great......we didn't have to carry alot of cash and there was no cc bill to pay when we got home .
