Was just at our local Target store and they're completely out of the Disney gift cards. I called the 2 stores that are the next closest to us, but they're both out as well. Just wondering if anyone knew if they've been pulled or if there's a reason they're out of stock.

Sound to me like someone in your area is planning a Disney trip and wanted to save 5%. Give it a couple of weeks. There were plenty of $50 & $25 at one of my targets yesterday, so I don't think they are pulling them. AND - it was the first time I have seen the $25 cards.

Oh and I have the extra 5% from RX so if I buy more before that expires (Aug 30) I will get 10% off - AWESOME.

can you please explain the 5% savings on the Disney card and the additional 5% from RX.

I just looked at the Target closest to me on Thursday & they had $50 ones but no $25. and there were quite a few. Good luck finding them!

At my Target they aren't kept in the same spot, for some reason. The $50 cards are in Electronics and the $25 cards are up front at check out.

Do you get 5% off by using the Target red card to pay for them?

Mm, are you positive about the 10%? Wouldn't it be 5% off the total, then 5% off the discounted total? So if you bought a $100 gift card, the 5% RedCard discount would bring the bill down to $95; then the 5% RX discount would be off that, so $4.75?

I just purchased $1600 (32 gift cards) from Target and used my 5% off Redcard and 5% off pharmacy to pay off my trip. I felt a little bad for having the guy at Disney type in all those numbers, but it was totally worth it to save that much money.

I bought all the $25 ones at my Target months ago to pay off my trip and they still haven't restocked them. I did find a few $50 ones in the back with electronics though.

And yes, it is 5% off and then 5% off the lowered price...so not quiet 10%, but still more than reward points from any credit card would give.

I understand the 5% off GCs, and I actually bought all the $25 at our store a few weeks ago. They have yet to be restocked.

However, I don't understand the additional 5% off with prescription/pharmacy? It's been a long day, and that's not making sense in my addled brain.:upsidedow

Basically you fill 5 prescriptions in their pharmacy using your red card and they will mail you a coupon/pass for an additional 5% off. It's good on a days worth of shopping.

Example: You buy $500 in gift cards. With the first 5% off, you will save $25. then, using the second 5% off, you will save another $23.75. So, for 451.25 you get $500 worth of gift cards.

I had the RX pass as well and knew I needed $3800 so I was picking up the $50's I needed a few at a time so not to clear the shelves, then I went in on one day and bought them all.

One warning, if you don't usually spend that much on your Target card you may want to call them ahead. They blocked my card and sent it to the fraud department for unusual useage. It took me over an hour on the phone at Target to get it working again (but it's a 1 day savings pass so I needed to buy them that day). All in all a HUGE savings on my trip so worth the trouble!

Thank you! Do you have to fill five different Rxs or can it be 5 refills on the same Rx?

Just another reason I should have found this board BEFORE our Disney trip a few weeks ago! I'm at Target at least once a week, didn't even think of Disney GC's. Oh well -- saving these tips for next time!

It can be five separate refills. Or if your family is like ours and you fill all your prescriptions at Target, then those count towards the 5 also.

I gave it a shot today, and it worked! It doesn't sound like much, but we have to pay for the dining plan and pay to upgrade to our APs, so we still have about $1100 to pay for our trip. I figure I can get my gift cards through Target first, then save $60 for the trip. We have to still pay for the DP for Christmas too...love this plan! Thanks for sharing....luckily there were plenty of cards to buy!
