Disney Gift Cards @ Target online question

Last time I was there, I used Disney gift cards to buy drinks at the resort bar, and while they were really weak drinks, alcohol was involved. :goodvibes

Yes, I agree. Gift cards can be used for alcohol. F&W booths all take gift cards and sell alcohol as well.

OK i have seen all the posts about buying Disney Giftcards online, using Target giftcards...
Has anyone had any issues in the store to do this??

Thanks!

Nope, just picked up a bunch at a local Target store last week and had no problems getting the 5% discount.

I haven't done it in quite some time, but I never had a problem doing it when I did. I can get a better discount by using my REDCard along with the Target GCs online, so I don't buy them in the store.

Two questions:

1. When you say the redcard has to be your primary payment method on Target.com, can that be either the debit card or credit card version? I only have the debit card.

2. If you stay at a resort and charge everything to your room, can you just pay the entire bill with Disney gift cards when you check out? I feel like that would be easier than holding a bunch of $50 gift cards, and trying to keep track of the remaining balances on each.

I'm also trying to figure out if the Amex Blue Cash card is worth opening, since it has a $75 annual fee :confused3 but I guess I'll just have to do that math myself :scratchin

Thanks!

I just opened the amex blue cash. I figured that $6000 on groceries at 6% return is $360, after the $75 dollar fee is $285 in cash back. I am only planning on using it at grocery stores and maybe gas stations for the 3%. I once I max out the 6k, then I will switch to a different card.

I've had mine for almost two years. I spend the $6k annually. Our grocery bill isn't that high so I buy a lot of gift cards at Kroger (including Disney). But the offers are great too. I am at $240 in 11 months.

1. yes, i have the redcard debit card set as my default on target.com. It works just like the credit card to get the 5% off.

2. Yes, you can pay your room charges off with the gift cards.

Thanks for your input, I know we spend at least $500 a month in groceries (sadly), so I guess with that math it would be worthwhile to open. Too bad the limit is 6K. We would spend more than that if you consider the disney gift cards.

We're in the same boat. We spend close to $500 a month on groceries, which doesn't leave a lot of room for purchasing gift cards. Since I just opened my account this July and the 6K is an annual maximum, I've been trying to buy up as may gift cards as I can afford before the end of the year. To me, it's still worth the $75 annual fee to earn $360 in rewards.

I hadn't thought of this! I just opened mine. I will definitely be using it to buy some gift cards now!

How many can you order per day? I know it is 3 per order, but how many times per day can you order without getting them canceled? I just bought $2400 in gc from raise.com and need the disney cards by the 4th. Target is saying they will be here by the 3rd which is too close for me but I don't have much choice. I don't know if I should do 3 orders then wait a couple hours then order more...

That might be a good way to get all of your orders cancelled! It could send up a red flag if you order that many and pay with Target GCs. Credit card scammers have been know to "launder" GCs this way. I've done 2 orders in one day, but never more than that, and I haven't had any problems.

They aren't slow to fill the order but shipping takes almost a week to reach me in PA! If they're telling you that the cards will probably arrive on the 3rd, that's approximately when they will get to you. I've had them arrive anywhere from 1 day early to as much as 3 days later than a estimated. The envelope is sent via UPS as far as your local post office. After that, it's up to the good old USPS to deliver it when they see fit.

Also be careful that you don't purchase the exact same value on a card in a row/day or the card may reject it as a double.

What you will want to do is go every few days and bring the balance down. Depending on what resort you stay at, they will automatically charge your credit card when you've reached a certain balance.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I would check with the posters here.

Can anyone confirm that you're still able to purchase Disney gift cards online using Target gift cards and then still get the 5% off if your default payment is your Red Card?

I thought I had read a few months ago that people were having their online orders cancelled. We need to pay our DVC dues so before I purchased over $1000 in Target gift cards from raise.com I wanted to double check.

TIA!

Yep, just did this last week and it still works!
