It really sound intriguing to save the 5%.

You can use them for your resort stay? and food, and what nots? I'm thinking about trying this out, but I would hate to get there, pull out my gift cards and them look at me like i'm crazy

Wow. I don't have a red card and get close to 20% off at Kroger when they do 4x fuel points. I may consider buying target gift cards instead of Disney and using the target gift cards to buy Disney gift cards online. Of course I would need to get a red card. But between 6% back from Amex, 5% for the swim team, about 8% in gas savings, and 5% off from Target this is quite a deal if I understand it correctly.

It's not 20% off, it's 14%. I figured it out once when I was bored. They have a max of $1/gal that you can use and up to 35 gal, and it takes $250 in gift cards to get the 1000 pts for the $1 off. So that means it is $35 off of $250 which is 14%.

ETA: It occurred to me you might be getting cash back for groceries on a credit card, if that is how you are making the 20%, I just wanted to clarify, the 4x fuel points only nets 14% max.

HOWEVER.....if you charge your alcohol to your room, you can use a gift card to pay off the balance charged to your room. We do it every year for F & W.

So if you use your amex card (5%) to buY the 2% disocunted target gift card...and than use your target debit card (5%) to purchase the disney gc you save 12% in total. Please let me know if you think this will work?

Yes, I just did this for approx $4,000 worth of gift cards. The money I saved (avg 12%) turned into our spending money.
