Disney gift cards... Help please!

The only restaurants on Disney property I can think of that don't take Disney gift cards, and also don't allow room-charging... are the ones at the Swan and Dolphin.

Considering their relationship with Disney, I find it a bit surprising they've never come to an agreement on gift cards.

I also tried to order more uncommon gift card designs- lion king, monsters inc, stitch so that they were easier to keep separate than the common mickey or mickey and friends that you see all over.

This. I'm hoping that we get a Remy gift card design in time for our trip to F&W next year, so that can be the "food" card. (Would love to have a Scrooge McDuck one for the "mad money" card.)

Yes it was a CM on the phone. I'm getting the feeling their info is not always accurate!
They are just full of wrong information, unfortunately.

We are doing just that this trip and never had a problem at any of the restaurants we've done it at before. For our upcoming trip, We all bought disney gift cards just to use to pay for our TS meals, QS meals and snacks (other than the kiosks that don't normally take gift cards).

The most ridiculous part of the info given by the phone CM is Disney sells gift cards at both F&W and F&G for use at the events. As bad as the info given out can be this one is in the top 5.

I always add the gift cards to my account before I leave home so we show up with a balance. I don't like to have to sit there at the counter and add them one after another. I charge everything to my magic band. Know that if you are planning to use the cards to pay your resort bill you need to do that before you go. If you don't they will charge your credit card before check in.

I have heard that you can consolidate your gift cards on to one card by calling the number on the back of the card. This will help when making a payment and getting a refund. Be aware that if there is unused money it will go back on the gift card so if you are using them one by one you need to keep up with them. If you consolidate then you need to hold on to that one card.
What do you mean by add it to your account? Is this something on MDE?

Thanks for all the advice on consolidating cards and transferring balances. Very helpful!

I can also vouch for the non-Disney owned Morimoto Asia. They absolutely accepted my Disney gift card as payment
