Disney gift cards good at restaurants?

I am reading about and considering buying some disney gift cards. This may be a silly question, but can the gift cards be used at restaurants around the parks, DTD and resorts?
I know I can use my Disney Visa rewards at restaurants so wondering if it is the same. Thanks

Yes, with a few possible exceptions. The S&D restaurants do not take them. Some DtD restaurants may not accept them. However, every restaurant in the parks and Disney-owned resorts will definitely let you use them.

We just charge everything back to the room then apply our giftcards at the hotel- less stuff to carry that way

I confirm this. We put all our charges on the room and pay down the balance with gift cards.

I just used Disney gift cards at T-Rex in DTD. I used them at the Yacht club in Captains grille. Also used them at the food trucks in DTD as well.

I wonder if you can use them at the kiosks. Where they sell the turkey legs. I did hear that Starbucks in Disney take the cards too.

Yes that is included as parks property and they can be used.
