Disney Gift Cards 10% off at Target!!

Just got back from Target where I got $1000 worth of Disney gift cards for exactly $902.50 I can not tell you how excited I am.

This is all thanks to DISboards. I received my target 5% off coupon in the mail a week or so ago. I looked at the fine print and it said no gift cards BUT today I remembered reading something on these boards a few months ago that Disney cards were considered entertainment so you could use them. So, about an hour ago I came on here to confirm it and off to Target I went.

I will definitely being doing this every year! Thanks again DISboards.

I forgot to tell you how I got the other 5%. Most may know but I also have a Target credit/debit card. So, 5% from the coupon in the mailer and 5% for using my Target card.

I went this past week and bought $800 worth (it was all they had!) and spent $722. I have a sneaking suspicion that this deal will not be around indefinitely. It is one of those "too-good-to-be-true-but-is-legit" deals and I foresee either Disney or Target putting an end to it. I use the gift cards for our annual dues so I really wish they had $100 cards available.

you too, i did that one year and had to call in and read each individual card for the ms rep , couldn't pay online.

I doubt Disney cares as I'm sure they are getting full value from Target when the Gift Cards are purchased. If Target cared, they would exclude all Gift Cards (not just their own) from the 5% Red Card savings.

FWIW, I doubt that Disney charges Target the full price of the gift card. They probably get them for a fairly significant discount - one that can still make them money even if they allow the RedCard 5% discount. The stackable 5% coupons are a special value and not available all that often from what I've seen.

Does anyone know how long Target has been doing this for? From what I could see it was at least a few years. I would assume if Target did not want to do it, or losing too much money they would have stopped already.

Does anyone know if the 5% coupon only comes once a year?

Where did you get the 5% off coupon? Was it mailed to you in a flyer or something? I have the credit/debit card so I wasn't sure if this got mailed to Target cardholders only or not .

I'm guessing the 5% off coupon might have been from the Pharmacy rewards program.

I got a 5% off card mailed to me (not from prescription). I am a Target credit card holder, so don't know if that was why I got it. I just bought a bunch of gift cards the other day using my Target card to get 5% off and didn't think to use my 5% coupon. So today, after reading this thread, I went to Target with my receipt and coupon and got the additional 5% off in cash. This is another of several reasons that I like Target and don't shop at Walmart.

It was through the mail. Came with a few other coupons for stuff I do not use (don't remember what they were for).
I may start doing prescription at Target, probably is we are young and do not get a lot of prescriptions filled.

Both of my DDs work at Target - I get the 5% for the debit card and their 10% too. I have been going once a month and buying them.

I checked with my DD who works at Target. She said the extra 5% coupon is for people who have signed up for the pharmacy rewards and have gotton 5 prescriptions. Hopefully this helps those who were interested.

I received my 5% off coupon in the mail and I have never once filled a prescription at Target. When I used it on the gift cards, the employee even asked me how I got it. I told him I got it in the mail. I'd almost thrown it out.

You know how you get coupons for things when you check out? Well I got one for $5 off next $50 purchase. It says no gift cards, but now that I hear form you guys that I can use it because it is counted as an entertainment card, this makes me HAPPY!!! Plus the additional 5% I get from my red card!! Every little bit helps!

I have a 5% coupon from a coupon book. I not a red card holder. Coupon says no gift cards but it sounds like Disney card is considered entertainment. Will they have to call a manager or will it just ring through.
