Disney Gift Card

Hi! I read that the Disney Gift Card can only be used at "Disney owned merchandise locations" but for the life of me I cannot find a list of places that do not accept...mainly I was wondering t about all the shops at Epcot, particullarly Mitsukoshi in Japan...will these places accept the Gift Card? I just thought this would be easier than carring around a bunch of cash with me. Thanks!

I wonder if you can call the particular shop somehow or call Disney's general # and talk to a customer service rep, or pull up the shop, I am not certain.

They do accept the gift cards at Mitsukoshi, i used one there in May. Most of the gift shops in Epcot take them.

Yes I just did some google research for you and I agree with the above poster and they do accept the card from others stating so.

Thanks! I was hoping they did--I just thought a gift card would be easier than carrying a bunch of cash or worrying about loosing my debit card

We started stocking up on Disney gift cards in March for our 2012 trip. I bought 2 yesterday-- one for my son's birthday today and one for Father's Day.

By the time we go, we'll have $600- $800 in gift cards, in addition to the points we have on our Disney Visa.

That will be our spending money for the week.

We haven't ever hit a place at WDW where they're not accepted. Lots of times we've charged stuff to the room, then paid that bill off at the end with the cards. So if you DO hit a problem and you're staying on site, you can still work it out.

Does anyone know if they will work at the restaurants in the Swan/Dolphin? I'm going without the DDP in Sept and plan on trying alot of restaurants that don't accept the DDP. I''m thinking Shulas, Il Mulino, Blue Zoo, Garden Grove, and Kimonos.

We also used Disney gift cards as Mitsukoshi, Lego Land in DTD took them as well...

I don't know but my gut says not. Some of those restaurants show up on restaurant . com where you can by a discounted certificate (when they do the 80% off promos you can get a $25 cert for 2 dollars.) but I never see a Disney owned restaurant on that site. so i'm thinking probably not. might have to call the restaurant direct.
