Disney Gift Card

Has anyone ever purchase the Disney Gift Card at the Disney store?
I was going to get my son Disney Dollars for X-mas but we don't have a Disney Store near us so I thought I would purchase the gift card.

If anyone has ever purchased this can it be used at all the theme parks?

I don't know. I have one that I got from our Disney rewards card that I think can be used at the DS or at the parks. I wonder if you could call up disney merchandising to get one for the parks. That is alot to go through though.

I was looking to get a gift card before we went but I couldnt find one to purchase. We dont have a Disney store here.

I have bought two, one for each of our nieces, from our local Disney store. They can be used anywhere at WDW that is Disney owned, including gift shops, restuarants, snack shacks, resorts, and so on. I think the only places that won't except them are the non-Disney owned locations within WDW like McDonalds, Planet Hollywood, and so on.

I posted the same question in a different thread a few weeks back. My response said the Universal Mickey gift card sold at disney stores, can be used for theme parks (gifts, food, etc.) They can not be used on hotel stays.

Also asked about disney dollars - can these be used on hotel purchases? Also told you could only purchase from disney and you have to mail in your purchase. Anyone else know if that is true?

Yup...make sure to tell them you want the one to use at the theme parks. We used it for quick treats (popcicles & chipwitches) as well as other things that we needed and made sure that we spent that money first.
Very worth it!
