Disney Gift Card Usage

Hello everyone, I read on the other site Disney is selling this new "Celebrate everyday!" gift card that is $50 which comes with a Disney Trading Pin. I love to pin trade and I love it even more when I can get a pin for free. My question is: Can I buy a bunch of these gift cards, and then use them to pay for my dining plan and whatever room charges I might have at the resort?

I know we have to pay for the dining plan when we check in as a DVC member. If they accept the gift card, maybe i can stop by the Disney Store at the airport and get the gift cards, take all the pins out, take the ME, when I get to the resort, I pay the DDP with the gift cards.

Can someone verify that the resort accept the gift card as payment?

If you're talking about Kevin Yee's article, then I think he said you can use it for anything a regular gift card can be used for, including APs. I'd think you could use it for the dining plan..I'd probably call and ask to be sure.

Disney gift cards can be used at all Disney locations run by Disney.

Can someone who is @ WDW check where these cards are available for purchase?
Or the airport store?
I can see myself using lot of them just to pay for tickets and food. Finally something really free from Disney! LOL

I bought one for my friend's birthday last week. I got it at one of the AK mercantile stores. I saw them wherever gift cards are sold. Besides birthday, they had Graduation & Father's Day. My friend loved it, the birthday one has a string on the bottom like a balloon, she pinned it to her top immediately.

Oh! This trip is for my nephew's graduation, I am taking him down there for 8 days, we are staying @ OKW and then switch to BLT for their opening night! With DDP and tickets, I am guessing I will need at least $1200 worth of gift cards, that's like 2 dozens free pins!! He has never traded pins before, that should be a good start.
I just need to find out where to get those gift cards before I check in (and pay for the DDP).

They may not have 24 of them at one location. I just saw a few on display.
