Disney Gift Card to pay for meals?....

Anyone use a Disney gift card to pay for their meals & if so-or have attempted to-any restaurant/Thanks so much!

That's what I'm going to do next trip since I have a bunch saved up. I use the gift cards to pay for my meals, but take cash to use for tips.

This trip we actually didn't charge on credit card-paid in advance. We were debating the dining plan (QS) but we are staying CL & last time we tossed more food bc we weren't hungry enough for EVERYTHING....we have decided to just get food here & there & thought instead of carrying cash we could just use the card...I saw that some of the carts won't take the cards but I figure most of the QS restaurants would..?

Pretty much any place that will allow you to charge items back to your room (if staying at a WDW resort) will take Disney Gift Cards. Also, you can always use a gift card to pay off the balance charged to your room as well.

Yes you can do that - no problem, any disney owned rest will take them.

Yes! I used one last year to pay for our breakfast at Ohana. I have found the Disney gift cards to be great for budgeting extra meals (we get the dining plan) and for tips, souveniers, etc. My kids loved having a card for their spending money!

I purchase one at the gift shop of the resort I'm staying the first night. It's nice not having to carry cash and always knowing how much is left. I never had a problem using it anywhere.

We used them last year to pay for almost all of our meal costs.The only place I wouldn't use them again at was Ghiradelli's. It took about 5 mins. to
get the approval. My DH came looking for me thinking I couldn't find him outside & was wandereing around DTD with his ice cream
We had no issue using them at WPE, WP cafe and Cooke's of Dublin.

We did this for our trip in October and it made it very convenient. I put so much on a card for the tips each day and got a new card per day. It was great.

Is there a limit of how much can be put on a gift card? I would like to be able to use it for all our meals in November.....and some of our souvenirs. But wondering if I will have to do several cards, or can I just though all my money down on 1 card??

Yes, the maximum value of any one gift card is $ 500.00

Thanks so much! I think we will do this that way we don't have to carry around the cash-we will most likely only use it at the QS restaurants so it sounds like we're good to go!
