Disney Gift Card Sale at Target

I checked the Discover site - it did not list Target or Walmart. "Department stores are defined as retailers selling a wide variety of merchandise, with separate checkout counters in each department." My local target did not allow the $25 cards to be used for the gift card deal - only the $50 cards.
Target has checkouts in each department, and sells a wide variety of merchandise.

I scored the $25 ones yesterday. Went back today to a different Target near my work and they were out...only had the $50 and $100's left. I inquired about getting a $5 Target card for every $50 as they were out of the $25. The key turner person (not sure the official title) allowed this and was able to get another $500 in Disney and still get the $50 in Target cards. I was surprised they let me do this and was still going to purchase them regardless. Think I am all done...until the end of the week.

I called Discover. They do not have Target on their list. JC Penney, yes. Target, no. I don't know what sense that makes, but there you go.

What do you mean? There's nothing for them to allow. The system just does it.

My target does not stock the $25 gift cards
I don't think don't think any of them normally carry the $25 cards. The only place I've found them is on an end cap at the registers; only one per store.

The 4 stores I was in today had spots for the $25 in about 3 locations throughout the store. There were all empty of course.

They did today have signage up for the $25 card on the offer - where yesterday they didn't

I think it depends on the store-the one closest to my house has never carried the $25 ones (only $50 and $100) including this week with the whole promo going on. The other 2 stores near my house where I found them had them in different locations. One had them (but not alot) on the main (year round) gift card display in front of the registers last week. The other target I stopped by yesterday had some on a special Christmas gift card display near the front door and a ton on the normal gift card display they have in the electronics department.

Another savings option for buying disney GC in our area is at local grocery store - Giant Eagle. You can even buy them online if you have a rewards card.

Current offer is $.20 off gas up to 30 gallons on every $50 spent on Gift Cards, which i believe is good 'till Xmas.

Naturally, double dip by using CC of your choice for air miles, etc.:-)

If you want to save even more you could buy a target GC at Giant eagle and get the fuel perks plus whatever points/cash back you get from your credit card-then use the target gift card to purchase the Disney gift cards. You'll get the $5 target gift card per $100 spent or the $5 per $50 spent (assuming you can locate the more elusive $25 cards) plus your normal Giant eagle fuel perks/credit card rewards.

This is where they were in my store as well. I was also able to get the deal on the $10 Starbucks gift cards. Spent $20 and got back $5. Great deal for teacher gifts.

Was only planning to get a couple but couldn't resist the deal. Cleaned out the $25 ones at my local (small town) store. Bought $600 for $573 with the Red Card, then immediately used my $60 in Target gift cards on the rest of my purchase. So, I ended up getting 600 for $513!! :yay:

Whaat, that's crazy! Looks like I am going to be late for work. Thanks for posting

Stores by us restocked in the last 24 hours. Picked up some more $25 Disney cards to help lower our expenses for a trip to DL next month.

The store by my office only had $50's. The store by my home had $50's, $100's and I found one space that said $25 but they were sold out. I will check it tomorrow morning to see if they restocked them. I bought 4-$50's for Disney and 4-$15 Starbucks and received 4, $5 Target cards. I also bought two of each Southwest, Panera, Chic-Fil-A and Olive Garden but they did not qualify for the $5 Target card. I had several others but since they didn't qualify either I didn't buy them. Thankfully a previous poster mentioned success with Starbucks because they initially were not ringing up as qualifying, but I insisted that they were included and eventually a manager got them to produce the GC.

I stopped at a very busy Target in Brooklyn. The cashier was having trouble activating the gift cards, and a supervisor came over. She said to me, "You should buy the $25 cards. Do you know why I'm telling you that?" I said yes, I do, but you don't have the $25 cards. She was surprised by that.

had to settle for 59% in $50's and 41% in $25's. So we got about 7.5% in total discounts between the two.
