Disney gift card refund question...

ANyone here know how to use a gift card 'refund'? I used a gc (have the card online at the site) to buy something from disneystore.com..... for some reason, I see the order as placed and shipping(they are so slow) but I also got an email saying I had a gc refund of xx.xx,they provided a number to refernce to use the credit, what does this mean? That I can now only use that amount to buy from the store online in the future,rather than using it in park later on? It's not a huge amount, but I am unsure of how to use it.(I don't want to use it online)
 
Was this a Disney Store card or a regular Disney card (one that can be used in the parks etc)? When Disney does a refund they do it to the original payment method - so if you paid with a GC they will put the money back to that card. Do you still have the card? If so, just check the balance at the Disney gift card site. If you do not have the actual card but have the number and the pin code you can transfer that balance to another Disney card.
 
Yeah, this was a real gift card,the kind that can be used anywhere, I'm not sure why I got that email,I may just have to call, b/c I had thought if it was a refund it would be back to my gc I used in the first place....

Did you check the balance on disneygiftcard .com ? If the balance includes the refund, you may not have anything to worry about.
 

If the return was after 30 days, it would be processed under the same rules as if you had no receipt, and would be a Disneystore credit, not back to a Disney gift card (or credit card, etc).

I have no idea if this was what happened in your case, but it is one possible explanation.
 
Yeah.... at this point, I;m not even sure what the email was for,as it appears online that my order went thru properly,I should get the package today,and need to check it to see that everything shipped- the gift card balance is what it should be after I placed the order, this is odd. I know for sure it hasn't been 30 days since I ordered,though they do have extremely slow shipping (amazon 2 day is my standard of measure) and I have no desire to have any of my funds tied up in disney store only funds....

I was wondering what you meant by Disney taking a long time, then you posted about Amazon.

I bet you are disappointed with shipping a lot.

Amazon is speedy. Those of us that have Amazon Prime pay for that speedy service.
 
Yeah, Amazon is pretty great, but so are a lot of other services, Disney is pretty slow. Anyway- I'm on hold asking cs at Disneystore .com to send refund to original method of payment, (once it arrived I saw 2 mugs didn't ship,hence the refund) I hope they can figure this out without a huge(r) hassle....
 
here's what cs told me..... they would do a 'one time courtesy' switch,and send the refund back to my original gc...... the exact opposite of everything I've read here.... she said too many guests were tossing their gc's,making it hard to refund that way(?) I just hope it goes through properly. (Disney and glitches with online things go hand in hand IMHO)

I've actually read posts here posted by people having that problem.

Asking how they are suppose to get their money because once they spent the money on the gift card, they tossed the card.
 
it worked!!! so excited, as I was just assuming that it wouldn't...I can see the balance back on my original gc!:cool1:
