Disney Gift Card (Inquiry)

Hello. First timer here. I was wondering if someone could verify my inquiry, just so I know ahead of time what I can and cannot do on my Disney trip.

I have multiple Disney Gift Cards... Am I reading everything correctly in how I can manage these?....


I can setup my magic band to make charges to my resort room.... then sometime prior to midnight on my last evening there... I can pay off all charges with these multiple gift cards?

That is correct so long as you're staying at a Disney hotel. One thing you want to be sure of is not to go over the limit (it varies for Value, Moderate and Deluxe hotels). Once you reach a certain threshold they will charge the credit card on file. It can be reversed but can be a hassle. Some people like to go to the desk every couple of nights to pay down their charges.

If you reach your charge limit before you come in and pay with your gift card, they will charge your CC automatically. So go to the front desk every couple of days to pay it down with your CCs.

I grab a few cards every time I'm heading to the front desk area, whether it's on the way to the bus or to eat. That's just me being paranoid that I'll end up losing the GCs.

Those are supposed to be the limits. There have been recent reports that the resorts have been charging the credit/debit card on file long before the limit is met. Can definitely confirm that. Just back from the Poly and they hit my CC when my balance was as low as $800, so I wouldn't be declined in the parks if I went over the limit.

Funny story, went down to the front desk and was paying down my balance with giftcards, when in the middle of these transactions my balance went way negative. Turns out that they processed my CC while I was in the middle of paying it down! It was actually only a click or two to reverse the CC charge, so it wasn't a major inconvenience

Yes. It's just sometimes a pain if you have large purchases. I actually prefer to use the GC for snacks because it's faster than charging to the room. But if we are in the store, and i have to use 4 different GC, I get 4 separate receipts.
