Disney Gift Card for Meals?

We are traveling with 6 boys, 5 of whom are teenagers. We have several "family" reservations made, but will be eating fast food in the parks at least once/day. I'd like to be able to accomplish two things: First, I'd like to not be in the position of having to order fast food for 8 people at a time . Second, we may not always want to eat at the same place or at the same time.

We have a daily budget for food and snacks per person. I'm trying to figure out the best way to give them control over their own fast food budget and alleviate some headaches for me.

One option I'm considering is purchasing prepaid Disney gift cards for each of them which would be loaded with their personal fast food budget for the trip. If they do happen to lose them, we can replace them. They would be able to eat with or without us. We would all be able to take charge of our own fast food orders, etc.

My concern is that the Disney gift cards may not be honored everywhere they may want to eat. For instance, can they be used at an ice cream cart? I have looked online and have not been able to find a complete list of places we CANNOT use them at the parks. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I also welcome any other thoughts on how to keep the hoard fed as we vacation!

You will be able to use the Disney gift crads virtually anywhere in a Disney park or resort that takes a Visa card. This includes almost all the ice cream and snack carts that populate the various parks. There are some exceptions (like the funnel cake stand at Epcot), but those are few and far between. Certainly, every counter service restaurant will accept the gift cards.

The disney visa rewards card has a list of places that take so maybe those places take the gift cards as well?
