Disney Gift Card Deals

Just tried to order a gift card through target and it wasn't taking the 5% off. Hmmmm
Take another look and 1) make sure the order was hooked up to your RED card account. 2) Were you already on the checkout page? The 5% off won't show in the cart unless you click "I'm ready to checkout".

I was at the point where if I hit the button it would order. So weird. I've done this a bunch of times for this trip and no issue. I'll try again later.

Did you type in your pin number even though you are using gift cards to pay? Sometimes I have to do that to make the discount show up.

Since PPDG was being itself, I bit the bullet and ordered Walgreens to cash out on my eBucks. I have some Best Buy gift cards thanks to a Samsung pay promotion, so I hope to cash-in on the ebates promo today/tomorrow. After that, is all Kroger Fuel points baby!

Can someone please tell me the scoop on Kroger?

Where I live, we have Ralph's, which is a Kroger store. I get "fuel points" when I shop, and 100 fuel points gets me 10 cents off per gallon at either Shell or Ralph's gas stations.

So is Kroger Fuel points something different? And how does it relate to Disney gift cards?

Thanks!

I use Kroger fuel which maxes out at $1/ gallon off (35 gallons max). When they run 4x points, it's $1 off/ $250 gift cards purchased. So I buy $250 of Target gift cards, get $15 back from Amex (Blue Preferred) and $1 off/gallon. I only use 20 gallons, so it's a $20 savings. Total savings is about 14% for me. I then use my Target gift card online with my red card as default payment to get 5% off Disney gift cards. You can also just buy Disney gift cards from Kroger.

Kroger has a similar deal, except that they let you accumulate up to 1000 points and get up to $1 off per gallon at Kroger stations. The Shell deal is the same. In addition, Kroger has multiple points on gift cards on occasion. Right now, it's 4X, so if you buy a $250 gift card, you get 1000 points, and then get to gas up for a very good price. If you have a large gas tank, this is a good deal. If you have to drive a long distance to a Kroger with a gas station, and you have a small car, not so great. That's why not everyone does this.

Thanks. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure my Ralph's fuel points stops at just 20 cents/gallon. If I get 15 gallons, that's just $3.

How do you get $15 back from Amex?

Thanks again

The last E-bucks redemption period, I got nervous about holding my bucks too long so in the afternoon on April 27 I cashed out. Fifteen minutes later Ebay ran a Flash Sale. :charac2:
I'd like to say I'll take one for the team and cash out again today, thereby certainly triggering a sale  but I think I'll hold a little longer.
But who knows....maybe there will still be a flash sale tonight or tomorrow? :genie:

I wouldn't do fuel points but for getting $1/gallon off. Amex blue preferred gives 6% back at grocery stores up to $6 k in spending annually. There is an annual fee (it was $75 but I think it now may be $95). I deal with the annual fee because the offers Amex has more than offset it.

Just to add to @havaneselover - if you use your AmEx for gas at Kroger, most of the time you'll get 6% savings instead of the usual 3% for fuel because it's coded at "Grocery." So that can add to the savings.

And yes - we had the 4x fuel points promo in store, too! Woot!!!

Are you sure that works? I thought I read specifically where you won't get either the 3% or the 6% (it would have to be a stand alone station to get 3% back on gas). My workaround has always been to go in store to purchase a gift card - and then buy gas with that.

I need to double check but I'm pretty sure I do get 6% off.

Assuming you have the regular Discover and not the Miles card . . .

The only gc to gc I know of are: Best Buy, Walgreens, Gamestop (maybe?), Target. Don't know about BBB.

It looks like you could use your rewards to get a discounted Game Stop gift card ($45 in rewards gets you $50 Gamestop gc). Then you could use the Gamestop card to purchase Ebay. Then eBay to either Best Buy or Walgreens; and then finally to Disney. This is highly YMMV since it seems as if Gamestop is hit or miss with folks (seems like more miss lately) regarding gift card to gift card purchases. Plus, your store may not carry eBay cards and you could be stuck.

You might want to consider just using your Discover rewards at another merchant where you can get a good value on the redemption, and then use your saved cash to get Disney cards elsewhere. For example, I save up my Discover rewards for Shutterfly gift cards. Then I use those to purchase Christmas gifts (a $40 Discover reward = $50 Shutterfly gc). The money I save on Christmas presents goes to my vacation fund. Good luck!

Yes, just regular discover card. I am way behind on making Shutterfly books so I'll look into those. Trying to get the best value out of those funds. A lot of my double points are from last years 10% back with Apply Pay. $750 cashback in one year not bad as that wasn't even my preferred card except for the 5% bonus cycles.

I just got back home after being on vacation for the past two weeks. Yesterday I went to one of my local GSs in the Phoenix area, and the system would not allow me to buy an ebay card with a gc. Interestingly the cashier asked if I work for amex (there are corporate offices in the area), because, they buy "stacks of $500 ebay cards every week" using gift cards that they get from work using points, and he thinks that is the reason that the system may have changed.

Has anyone been turned away at Walgreens with gc? I have the red Walgreens gc (not store credit) that I purchased from SVM that are supposed to work and tried to purchase eBay but the POS wouldn't accept it today. It was my first try. I'm pretty disappointed as I have decided to quit using GS even though it worked for me as recently as last week.

I used that promo as well (but I have the Miles card). We pretty much cleaned out BJ's trying to buy as much as we could. That was a great deal! I expect Discover regrets running that promotion.
