Disney Gift Card Deals

I didn't use e-gift cards, but yesterday I used 4 physical Target gift cards to buy Ebay gift cards. I had no issues.
I guess it doesn't hurt to try mine have barcodes. I was just shocked when I went online and no giftcards.

Hopefully they didn't. Does anyone know if u can use 4 egiftcards at the register?

If you have a smart phone you should be able to load them to the target mobile app and use them that way. When you pull it up in the app it has a barcode that can be scanned. I used two via mobile app yesterday with no problem.

Did Target stop selling Disney giftcards online? I looked today at Target.com and it says in store only.
They haven't had them in stock for a few days maybe even weeks, but I'm not sure if they have done away w/ it completely.
Unless I am mistaken, they had $50s in stock online for part of a morning when they weren't doing the 5% off for redcard stuff a few days ago. They sold out within just a few hours, but the page said the same "visit a store" message both before and after they were in stock.

After many failed attempts with Android Pay at the self serve registers, I added GCs to the Target app and was able to use them. I just don't like adding GCs to Target because of rumors of GCs being hacked and drained. So, I don't load them until I have plans to actually go to Target and use them.

I don't know what you mean by "multiplier rewards"? Are you referring to the ebucks bonus offers? If so, people are waiting on the delivery of their Target GCs so that they can use them to purchase eBay GCs from Target. Then they use those eBay GCs to purchase other GCs on eBay and earn ebucks from that purchase.

Yes the ebucks bonus offer. So in essence the whole process is cyclical? From start to finish it would be: buy a discounted target GC, use that to purchase an eBay GC at Target, use that on eBay to purchase additional Target GC's when the ebuck promotion is in effect (thus giving you the eBucks rewards), then either repeat the process when those come in the mail buy going to Target and purchasing more eBay GC's or cash out buy using them to purchase the Disney GC's. The ebucks can then also be converted to an eBay GC and the process can repeat from there.

Does that sum it up?

Pretty much. There can be more to the process and some detours that you can take through other merchants but that is the basic idea.

So if I have time, the patience of a saint, and I can remember where in the process I am, it's really not that complicated. :flower:

It's not! It took me a while to get the hang of it. Write it all out and make yourself a nice spreadsheet to keep track of things. Once you do that, and you remember what step you're on, it will be a piece of cake. :)

Yep, just make yourself a system to keep track. Either a spreadsheet like a lot of us use, or paper/pencil. Just something to help you. You think you will remember everything, but after a while the details and transactions all run together. Being able to look at your chart or spreadsheet really does help.

Sure, but the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Have you read the stories posted here? Most recently @Marionnette 's issue with UPS possibly losing $1000 of her GCs? This is why you need to read, read, read to understand all the pitfalls, the possibilities, the perils and the promise of this process. It's not without risk, and you'll have your vacation money tied up in gift cards for which the rules could change at any time.

The delivery status for the package that was supposedly on this morning's truck changed this evening to "held for future delivery requested" and an email I received stated that delivery is now scheduled for MAY 17th!!!!!!

Dealing with UPS chat was absolutely useless. He couldn't tell me who made that change or why. He claims that the package IS at the "facility" but that no one will contact me about its whereabouts until tomorrow morning by 10 AM. It could be placed on the truck tomorrow. It could be on it's way to East Gibbip. It could have been stolen or fallen behind a shelf. All I know is that I have $1K in missing GCs from GCM. I sent a message to GCM thru eBay and I'll be waiting to see if they open an investigation with UPS from their end.

Not happy right now and very frustrated with UPS. I know that eBay/PayPal will make it right...eventually...if the package is indeed lost. The package tracking shows that it was never delivered but it's up to the sender to make the actual lost package claim. It's very nerve-wracking to be in limbo for the moment and I'm trying to remain calm.
UPDATE:
I reached out to GCM (which, by the way, was fantastic about responding to me in a timely manner) and they reassured me that if the package proved to be lost, they would "reprint" the GCs from the order and ship them to me. However, they asked me to determine through UPS if the package is truly lost.

UPS called me at 9:57 AM. Technically, that's still "before 10 AM". The woman I spoke with told me that the package is in their quality assurance department (UPS has one of these?) and it will unfortunately NOT be delivered today. She assured me that she will personally hand it to my driver tomorrow for delivery. I asked for confirmation that the package will definitely be delivered tomorrow because it requires a signature and necessitates me being home until it arrives. She told me that she will call me again tomorrow morning to verify that it has been handed off to the driver. No explanation as to why the delivery date was magically changed to 2 weeks into the future.

So, I'm still in limbo with those Target GCs but at least I have the assurance from both UPS and GCM that this will somehow be made right. And I don't have to postpone any errands because I'm fearful of missing the UPS truck. So, I'm in a better frame of mind than I was last night.

Just got an email starting that Paypal is updating their User Agreement. The amended User Agreement will be effective as to all PayPal users on June 25, 2016.

REVISED SECTION 11.5

We’re making a clarifying change to Section 11.5 and adding a new item that will be excluded from PayPal Seller Protection. The new item that will not be eligible for Seller Protection is:

  • Items equivalent to cash, including gift cards.

Yayyyy. I bet that flash sale last week was horrendous for them. Not just this forum, but nearly every other forum had the same issues last week. I bet every single person who tried to buy from PPDG got locked out of their account.

I saw that too, can you explain what this means going forward? I guess I don't really know what the Seller Protection is, so I am unclear on how this affects us.

Hmmm. I wonder if there has been an uptick in fraudulent GC listings and PayPal has been losing money on buyer claims for "not as described" or "not received". I wonder if this will apply to PPDG? Or GCM, which claims that they only process GC sales on eBay's behalf?

From what I took from it and from what I've experienced when calling CS, is that it was the supposed "seller protection/security" that was locking us out from our accounts from ordering PPDG cards and having us to verify our accounts a million times before ordering. I might be wrong, but it seems like they might either be modifying the system to prevent it from happening again.
