Disney Gift Card Deals

Yes, i think that's a good idea, I suggested that a few days ago during the fuss about SB tips. Personally I think having to check check two threads to make sure not to miss stuff on Disney gc deals, etc. I think we'd end up with two pretty similar threads instead of Keeping things all together. I think being able to refer to a particular post on a particular page would be much more helpful. Also, if the new page doesnt stay bumped up all the time, the page would get buried and difficult to find.

What if we find a page that has is spelled out on here and then when people ask we could just say "please refer to page..." Then no one would have to spell it out over and over and we don't have to worry about creating a new thread.
If it is outside of Disboards, it will be deleted and you will have points added to your account. I know from personal experience.

There should be a post on this thread somewhere. I'm off to find it now...:tiptoe:

ETA: This is an older post of mine. It doesn't include all the possible ways to get Disney GCs at a discount, but I'm willing to edit it so that it does. Just tell me what needs to to added, deleted or clarified.

This is a good one! So when people ask in the future we could all just say "please refer to page 470". Then they know exactly which page they are looking for and no one has to type it over and over.

I think this is a great idea, especially if Marionnette expands it and keeps it up to date. I guess I just get frustrated reading the same thing here every single day about how to churn rather than coming here to see if there are any new deals (5x eBay promo, discounted gift cards, etc.). I am happy to answer questions but its gotten excessive lately.

Ok, just wanting to make sure of this. I am signed up for promos for the Ebucks, but have yet to get any. When you are offered a promo, you will get a email invite, but can also see the invite in your My EBay?

Agreed, that link/post is great. I just stumbled upon these boards about a month ago, and started my attempt at churning (I've yet to add the ebay step due to no promos for me) just 2 weeks ago. Trip is September. I am totally obsessed now. But I love it.

I get an email, it is in my eBay messages and it shows the promo on my ebay home screen where it is scrolling various offers/ads.

What about a general how to thread for the budget board that includes info from here, swagbucks basics and whatever else come's up often that I can't think of. Even if it's a link to a page that contains the info instead of putting it all in that thread, it could be helpful. The same questions get asked in both this thread and sb all the time.

That sounds more like something that would be better off in a sticky post that a moderator or webmaster would have to pin to the top of the forum. If not, then the thread has he be floated back to the top of the front page regularly because it won't be any good to new readers if it falls off of the first page.

I agree and meant to put that it should be a sticky but by the time I got to my computer to post about it I forgot about it :) That's what I get for reading the boards while at traffic lights and posting once I'm home :)

As someone who posts infrequently but follows along (and read back many, many pages when first figuring this out), I am against a step-by-step instruction guide, partly because if people cannot be bothered to read 30 or so pages then really they don't "deserve" the discounts, and second because I agree that more people means the deals will not last as long. Not really worried about Target but GCM on eBay sells out on a regular basis, and it is getting harder to get the gift cards when eBay runs the eBay bucks specials. I am all for helping people if they put in the effort too, but not really in favor of holding someone's hand every step of the way . . .
1000%-- and further, and personally, I am sort of against things being laid out for everyone over and over.

If they ask and nobody responds with the deal instructions on a silver platter than maybe they will go hunt for info themselves (flame retardant suit being prepared). I don't feel that way about posts where clearly people have done the research they just want to make sure they got the basics straight, but when you show up and are like 'Hey, tell me precisely how to do what you do so I don't waste time reading' it rubs me the wrong way. Especially when there is a follow up down the road that the deal didn't work so they called Target.

I started this a couple of weeks ago and have added a couple updates since the 1st post. It's not the greatest format but it could be referenced and updated/revised, edited and definitely improved.
Ebates
does not work forRaise.com
requires specific purchases with the GC purchase atTarget.comto get the 2%
easy to tell you are linked in and purchases show up quickly
payout in cash (check)
MyPoints
does work forRaise.com purchases (I think)
does not require a specific purchase for GC purchases atTarget.com
seems to pay 2% but states something a bit less
I seem to have a problem when linking to a store and never really know if I am going to get the cashback
delayed (compared to Ebates) cashback confirmation
other cashback opportunities besides purchases
payout in GC's
Topcashback
does work with Raise.com purchase
pays for Target and eBay GC purchases
confirms shopping history but delays for confirmed payouts
Swagbucks
does work forRaise.com purchase
site states GC purchases excluded
but has been confirmed to pay on eBay site GC purchases
confirms shopping history
1st 2200 points equals $25 GC (Target an option) after that there are multiple options including cash
can cash out whenever you want (once you meet the minimum) not dependent on quarterly payouts
iConsumer
pays 4% but has paid out up to 8% for a limited time
restricts payout opportunities to $20 a month
payout in cash (I think)
does work with Raise.com purchase
pays for eBay GC purchases
does it require specific purchases (ruler) with the GC purchase at Target.com to get the cashback?
is it easy to tell you are linked in and how is the purchase tracking?

Do not mention the ruler specifically. People need to vary what they order with the gift cards at Target

I keep $1200 in Ebay cards, and $1200 in Target cards. Keep $1200 for cards in transit. Any surplus gets converted to Disney cards.

That's awesome, davper! I have $650, and I recently bought another raise card so that's about another $200 that I need to convert to Ebay cards anytime now, I forgot to do that when I was doing the $650(which was from that 10% target deal in Dec).

Just a question, or maybe a suggestion, but couldn't there maybe be some links in that post that you are talking about editing to add a bit more info.? Maybe there could be a link to that SB thread, or others that get asked about, for lots more detail. It wouldn't need to be a sticky, it could just be included in that post to find more detailed information.

Hopefully people would still answer basic questions when new people try to come join this thread, I would hate for this to become an unfriendly place where new people are afraid to ask questions. But, if they are referred to that post #470(or w.e. number post it is), they could get up to speed in one basic spot, and maybe it could have some extra links to things lots of people in this thread do to help with saving money on/for Disney gc's. Then hopefully they will feel ready to join in if the information is something they are interested in pursuing.

Thanks for offering to keep a post updated with how to information for new posters, Marionnette.

Once Ebates posts, is the cash back (essentially) guaranteed, or do they regularly audit/review it and pull cash back that has posted?

I'm just curious if I need to babysit it to the level that I do TCB - i.e. ensuring every single transaction posts and remains in its full amount until it's designated as payable.

My experience has been that once ebates rewards for a shopping trip, they don't rescind the cashback unless the merchant contacts them because you made a return or canceled the order.
