Disney Gift Card Deals

Raise gc's.... they all seem to be e gift cards.... this is legit?

I have only ever purchased Target gift cards from raise as an e-gift card. Shortly after you purchase they'll email you and you can use the gift card on Target's site.

I have also purchased a Panera gift card from there, in that case I was able to print it out and use it at the store.

Does GCM charge $2.99 shipping on the first item in the order and then $.99 each after or is is $2.99 on the first of each denomination in an order? Last week I ordered (2) $150 target cards and (1) $50 target card. They charged me $6.97 shipping. Is this correct or should it have been $$4.97?

I think your second statement is correct. And any duplicate of the same denomination is additional $0.99 after the first $2.99

1- $150.00 : $2.99
2- $150.00 : $0.99
1- $50.00 : $2.99

Total: $6.97

$2.99 for the first of each denomination.

Well darn. Live and learn but at least now I know. I assumed it was each card not by denomination. I didn't have a bonus eBay bucks but at least the purchase broke even!

I'm gonna try that. I found that after I entered my PayPal account is when the $200 stops working. But I think I've figured it out. My paypal username is using one email. I have another email I use for random stuff such as coupons and store emails. I sent one of the eBay GCs there so as to "switch things up" and not make it seem like I'm buying a ton of eBay GCs for myself. Well- that address is different from my PayPal address. I bet that's why it's not working!
Is your paypal verified? I believe the ebay gc limit for an unverified account is $500 every 30 days....

I find it interesting that people ask and give details about getting target gift cards from ebay, kroger, raise, giftcard zen, getting the ebates exception etc but when people have questions about swagbucks people get upset that the conversation is on here. I did try to pull the conversation over to the swagbucks thread yesterday when it started to get more specific. I agree that the more in depth discussions should be over there, but this page has actually turned more into "Gift Card Churning" than it is "Disney gift card deals".

True. Although it seems that churning seems to be the main way to get a deal on Disney Gift Cards.

I'm conflicted on the pros and cons of starting a new thread on churning. While it's better from an organizational point of view to break it off from this thread, I feel like there's a bit of secrecy of keeping the details in this thread that keeps it just for people who will use this super power for "good" and not "evil". ;) Well, relative-ethically speaking.

Swagbucks already has a dedicated thread, so I like to keep "like" with "like" and gently (or maybe today was tersely, but not intended to be hostily) direct more in-depth questions there, since, while it's an active thread, many people on the Budget forum aren't aware of it yet.

I don't think there should necessarily be a separate churning thread, I was just pointing out that all of these are ways to get target gift cards which we then turn into disney gift cards, including perk and swagbucks. I learned about perk from this thread and I know several people learned you can get a deeper discount by adding swagbucks into the churning from this thread. It is all the same end goal; cheaper if not free trip to Disney. I do agree specifics should be on the separate board, but helpful friendly responses shouldn't be discouraged either.

That could be it. I bought $400 in gcs a week and a half ago, so that would explain why the $100 GC is fine and the $200 GC isn't working. :crazy2: Thank you! I'll look into that!

Raise gc's.... they all seem to be e gift cards.... this is legit?

I sold a kohls card on raise that I didn't want. I had the option to ship the gift card or submit it as an e gift card. it is cheaper for you as a seller to do the e gift card. You have to give your credit card and consent to have your card charged if the gift card is emptied by you and that is why they guarantee the money you spend when you buy from them. That is why they can only be used online. They were usually originally a physical card but the seller didn't want to ship it.

Thanks everyone for your help and great ideas! This ended up being the problem. Back in college I had a Paypal (used Ebay all the time for books, etc) and for some reason it would NOT verify. So I abandoned that account and created a new one - the one I was using to purchase the GC's. I couldn't verify that one because my bank account was linked to my old account, and I couldn't remove my bank account from my old account b/c it wasn't verified. I called and spoke with someone and they confirmed that with my old account, I did everything necessary, but they never actually verified it. Long story short, she verified my old account so that I can now use it to buy gift cards. Whew.

Then leave the SB discussion for the SB thread. It's one thing to mention using it for churning or extra rewards for purchasing Disney GCs. It's another thing to clutter this thread up with general discussions on how to earn, how to redeem or when to redeem on any particular rewards program. The last four pages have been overrun with SB discussions to the point where it's harder to follow the Disney GC discussion.

JMO, but I agree with @PerfessorZ on this point.

I was simply agreeing with PerfessorZ's point. When someone asks me a direct question, I do like to respond though. But the Swagbuck's thread is definitely more appropriate. I don't know if you were trying to be rude, but its hard for me to not take issue with this response.

How do you verify, or know if your account is verified? I have had the account for a couple of years but it was only used a couple of times to accept payments from Dave's for renting my DVC points. I have $200 eBay and plan on buying $200 more so I am ready for the next 3x (or better) bucks. I don't want another snaffu on the 1st step of my new master plan, lol. TIA

You can get paid cash through Paypal....
*snipped .....
So far I have over $600 from saving just a little over 1 month. Not all months will be that good, since I had some lucky income, but I am off to a good start now.

Thank you, Jen and Ashwin, I very much appreciate your helpful and kind response! It's definitely helpful as I decide which ways I want to put effort and time into trying to get more Disney gift card deals. Just like target/ebay gc churning, this is another valid way to work towards buying Disney gc's for less, and make our trips more affordable. That'd be really awesome if you are able to fund your trip this way, basically getting free Disney gc's - now that's a Disney gift card deal!

Thank you for the links where I can follow up and find more info!

If I lost $25, it wouldn't end me. I like knowing that I have enough to cash out for $25 right at the beginning of the next month. Maybe it is silly, but it helps me see the progress right away that month and it helps motivate me to earn as much as possible to see how much more I can get that month, I guess.

These are good resources. I don't mean to take over the feed with Swagbucks talk, but these are more related to earning gift cards towards Disney than with the specifics of how to earn.

This is JMO, but I think, whether intended or not, this post is rather rude to a poster who was helping me by answering my question. I feel bad that she got this response when just being kind and helpful to me, someone with the same goal of getting deals on Disney gc's as others who post to and read this thread. And I don't believe the thread was cluttered or overrun by pages of big discussions on earning, redeeming, etc.

Jen and Ashwin, I agree, I think your response was definitely related to showing another way to earn more Disney gc's. It had enough details to make considering the swagbuck option to reach my goal more understandable and viable. And enough info to make me want to put some more effort into learning about SB by following thru to the other threads and learn more info. Another whole giant thread is pretty intimidating to think about tackling. I appreciate knowing the details of it someone from here who is working the SB route with the specific goal of getting Disney gift cards for a great deal!

I totally agree with you, Cydney! This thread contains much discussion of Target gc's, Ebay, Raise and other gc selling sites, Ebates and other shopping portals for cash or points, etc, with the Disney gc deals being the goal we are all after. Kroger? I mean, it's talked about a lot, but we don't even have a Kroger here, so not too helpful for me, but it helps other posters who live elsewhere so, imo, that makes it a valid discussion here. Why should SB be any different? So, I, too, don't understand why helping posters have some knowledge of SB gets called out but constant discussion of Ebay churning is deemed fully acceptable. Every couple days someone is asking how that works. Usually someone kindly explains again. Those target cards aren't even always used to get Disney gc's, but for other items.

Churning maybe be a main way for many, but there are a lot of people who get Disney gc's without Ebay churning. I've only just recently done my first churn, and was attempting my second churn(stopped by sold out ebay gc's, lol), but I saved other ways in the last year. Many don't have the time, money, or even the stomach, for churning, but get Disney gc deals in other ways, that are just as valid, and even less risky. Some are happy with a smaller percentage of a discount, others are willing to put forth more effort for a bigger payoff. I want to hear all the ways posters are using to get a deal on their Disney gc's, and enough details to understand it at least a little bit and decide if I want to pursue it more. If someone doesn't need or want to read that info, they can skip that post(s). I'm sure many skip the ebay churning posts that don't want to get involved in all that.

I was simply agreeing with PerfessorZ's point. When someone asks me a direct question, I do like to respond though. But the Swagbuck's thread is definitely more appropriate. I don't know if you were trying to be rude, but its hard for me to not take issue with this response.

I, too, took issue with the anti SB discussion. It bothered me to read them since I feel like I probably triggered them by asking a few questions. Thing is, I thought this was the place to ask about ways to get a Disney gc deal, and other posters would share their experience or knowledge.

I understand that learning more about SB in depth would best be done by visiting that thread, but I appreciate learning how and why it might be very worthwhile, according to some posters who are doing very well with it!

I have wondered if there's anyway to make a post to this thread that can be locked or saved somehow(no idea how), that has details of Ebay churning, doing the Raise to Target, etc, in lieu of having a separate thread for churning or other methods. It keeps the info all here on the site but a post that contains the details of doing these things can then be referred to posters who want to learn how to try to save on Disney gift cards!

To the person with the message saying the eBay gift card couldn't be applied - I got the same thing. I ordered $450 worth of target gift cards through GCM. I was nervous because I never received a shipping confirmation. They randomly showed up one day this week. The next day I signed on to order another $450 and got the same message. I believe it may be because my PayPal account isn't verified. I thought it was because I have my debit card on there but maybe I need my actual account info in there. I don't know - PayPal is a big mystery to me, and I haven't had a lot of time to fool with it this week. I thought about calling them to see if they could help me verify my account. Probably something simple that I'm missing. I think with an unverified account you are limited to $500 in 30 days.
I agree, about PayPal, did you call to get your account verified?

You have to add a bank account of some sort in order to verify your PayPal account. If I recall the process correctly, PayPal will make two temporary charges to the account and you'll have to log-in to your bank account, view the charges, and report back to PayPal what the amounts are.

This link may help you: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/acc/seal-CA-unconfirmed-outside

Note: While I know that the link is ok (because I posted it), I would recommend that you use it for information only and then log-in to PayPal separately. I'm really not paranoid, but I'd recommend that you never log into PayPal, etc. through a link someone provides, as you don't know the origin or their intentions.

Ok thanks for both, especially the link advise. I follow that religiously at work but tend to disregard on personal laptop.

Just FYI - just posted a new thread so it didn't get lost in here that I just entered a few gift cards into my DV account and two of the $100 gift cards had "hiccups". One was credited two extra times and the other credited one extra time leaving me an extra $300 I shouldn't have. The page has been a little wonky lately but I've never had this issue where it had a hiccup and then actually credited it more than once into my account. I only received one confirmation email for each one (as I should have) so I'm hoping they know they have this issue and self correct it soon and deduct the excess that's not rightfully mine.

Just sharing in case it happens to others or you see a deduction later and perhaps not realize you got an extra deposit that wasn't yours :)

The 20 mins I spent on the phone was so worth it! I had done everything necessary to get my account verified. PayPal confuses the heck out of me. The person I spoke with on the phone was so nice and handled it all for me very easily! Definitely give them a call and they'll walk you through it.

Sorry I think I quoted the wrong person lol. I think that should've been addressed to @msdaisy !
