Does anyone know any just fun facts about Disney, movies, theme parks, anything ?

Here are some :

-Only one building on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom are built to full scale.
The Exposition Hall. They did this to hide the Contemporary.

-Cast Memebers playing Snow White and Ariel can't get a tan. Even off-duty.
Snow White has Fair Skin and Mermaids dont have tan lines.

The eiffel tower in France and the Minaret in Morocco at EPCOT are both small scale replicas using size and distance along with paint to make them seem like they're real.

The Geodesic Sphere (aka: The Ball) at EPCOT is the only free-standing complete sphere in the world. All others are only 3/4 spheres.

The light in the window of Cinderella Castle in Florida is left on at all times.

The light in the window of Sleeping Beauty Castle in California is left on at all times for Walt.

The drawbridge of Sleeping Beauty Castle in California is fully functional, but has only been lowered twice in its history.

Cinderella Castle in Florida is 189 feet tall, making it 11 feet below the Florida state height regulation that requires a blinking light be put on top.

That's all I got.

The official colours of WDW are Lavender, Pumpkin Orange, Lagoon Blue and Mint Green.

The Magic Kingdom hotels that can be seen from the park are themed to blend into scenery. Contemporary can be seen from Tomorrowland, Polynesian from Adventureland and Grand Floridian from Main Street

(not sure if the last one is true since it's something I randomly remembered...)

- The oldest bus is 19 years old, squeeks, and has over 900,000 miles on it.
- Every night the maintenance staff hoses down the park with over 120 degree water so all the gum will melt off of the mid-ways and cue-lines.
- The Tower of Terror elevators go 18 inches higher than before. They did this so that when they take your picture, the elevator is acutally dropping and isn't stopped.
- There are no cup lids or paper straws anywhere in Animal Kingdom because of the danger to the animals.
- Did you know that Disney World recycles all the human waste from the parks and hotels....

It's true, the solid and liquids are seperated and the solids are used as fertilizer on the tree farm, where all the trees for the parks are grown. The liquids are then cleaned naturally by growing hydrangas in them and then the water is sent off to the sprinkler system.
- 1/4 of WDW property has been made into a wildlife preserve.
- More than 50 million Cokes are consumed each year at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests also gobble 10 million hamburgers, 7 million hot dogs, 9 million pounds of french fries and more than 300,000 pounds of popcorn.

If you look on the windows on the buildings in Main street, you'll see peoples names. They are people who contributed to creating WDW, so it's kind of like a movie credits.

- 1/4 of WDW property has been made into a wildlife preserve. Actually it's a 1/3, plus a 1/3 is land that will be used and a 1/3 is already used... something like that

The Yeti in Expederest is the most technologically advanced AA to date (which will soon be outdated by the Mr. Potato Head being built for Toy Story Mania) and it is also the largest.

I dont want to sound like a jerk, but I think the castle is 199 ft technicaly. You have to conside the MK is built 10 ft above land, with the utilidors

technically, that's true, but I was going with the measurement of the building itself, not including the hallways that run under the entire park.

How about Push the Trash Can in Tomorrowland. And there's a tree outside the entrance to DAK that talks as well.

Yea they are really fun to watch and see what they say * I always look for the cast member! ;)

heh

I really wanted to see the roaming AA but I never got to :(

ToT blends in with the scenery in Morocco at Epcot because it can be seen from there, too bad about the S&D being seen from the France Pavillion...

Won't it taste like...cardboard then?
Nah, cause it's special. It's the first paper straw they found that didn't disinegrate with the liquid. And even if they're thrown in the bushes and on the street, they're safe for animals and they decay relatively fast. :goodvibes

Yup! It's outside Mouse Gear I think.
