Has anyone done the food plan? What are your oppinions on it?
We're doing the food plan this year, and I would like to know what to expect.

:)

I've done it I think 3 years. We're doing it this year too.

I love it beacuse you get I think 2 snacks a day and you can pick anything under 3.00(not inculding tax :] ) as your snack.

One year we did'nt use all of our snacks and at the end of our trip we just bought all this food to bring back home XD
--------------------------------------
For every meal (other than break fast) each person gets an Apatizer(sp),A meal and a desert.

I love it =]

We see no point in doing it. I wouldn't get it. My family gets apatizers a meal and dessert also. And we don't have the plan

i work in merchandise, so ive checked out a few people on the snack plan thing. they seem to like it and it helps with buying all those drinks and candies everyone just starts to crave.

We don't do it, but we can't. I think it's because we have Annual Passes or because we are members of the DVC. I don't know if we'd do it anyway.

We have another plan, though, and it takes off a certain percentage of the final bill. It was $50, and I think it takes off 20%...not sure though. I think it's called the Disney Dining Experience or something...:confused3

The Disney Dining Plan is the GREATEST THING EVER CREATED!!!!!

We used it on our last trip and it was BRILLIANT! It saved us HUNDREDS of dollars!!

You get 1 counter Service, 1 snack & 1 sit down meal on the plan we had and it was perfect.

We usually used the counter service to breakfast (at the Pop Century Food Court) and used the snack for lunch (or just bought lunch if we were dying of hunger) And sit down meal for dinner (except once, when we went to breakfastosaurus for breakfast)

It is brilliant! We ate at alot of expensive restuarants and we could order whatever we wanted, no matter how expensive.

At Le Cellier, our bill (for 4 people) would've been a little less than 300.00$ and it was FREE.

I HIGHLY recommend it, even if you don't use all your credits, or aren't big eaters, it's still going to save you money in the long run.

I absolutely LOVED it. It saves you sooooooooooooooo much money. I mean, seriously. You can have anything you want off the menu. At dinner one night, I had a beef skewer thing for appetizer, filet mingon (sp?) for main course, and a huge chocolate thing for dessert. I mean, like, woah. The waiter got, like, a $40 tip. And when you do the plan, you pay a LOT less than if you didn't. It's incredible. And you get your snacks too. Dinner one night was like, $300 dollars and we prolly paid $80 for it because you pay a flat fee in advance. So it doesn't matter what you get. You just give them your little dining plan card thing, and that's it! :) I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2

It's awesome. Normally, I would only get like an entrée at dinner, maybe an appetizer. And my parents never bought me soda, but you get a drink with the meal with the food plan. And it really does save you a lot of money. I love it. I can get prime rib every night, and my parents don't have to worry about the bill.

I absolutely love it =]!!

I get my large fry from Mickey D's in MK. They only serve fries. lol.

I think I had like 4 steaks on that trip..... You could pick anything you want, like even the most expensive. Appetizer, entree, then dessert, 2 snacks, and then if you have stuff left over you could use it. We have been doing it for about 2 years, this is gonna be our 3rd.

:]

You don't get a soda?

I love love love love love it. It's so great and helpful. It's saves tons of money, even for little eaters, like me. It's lots of food too.

BUT this year we got the free dining in September, so the whole thing...is FREE. You can have fliet mignon, lobster tails, creme brulee, ANYTHING YOU WANT. And it's free.. =]

I'm going to love this trip.

AND I think youre going to be there during the food and wine festival, so you can spend all that extra money you save on that. :teeth:

my closest friend went with her family and tried it. two adults / two kids total party of four. she said that she did not think it was worthwhile because most people do not eat a appetizer and a dessert with a main course. each person including kids get an appetizer and dessert and she said that when she added it up, they would only really share one appetizer for the family and could order two or three meals to share. two kids are small . one dessert if any would be all that they needed. she said that it was too hot to really eat all of that food. she also mentioned that after a couple days they were tired of "disney" food.

i understand that some people have a promotion to get the dining for free , i'd definately do that if you can get it.

I like the meal plan. On the last day we buy food for a lot of people.
It's really helpful, too.
It's extraordinary. :D

the only catch with that is that the tickets and room rates are rack rate if you have the dining plan. (meaning full price).
with the discounts my dad got for our rooms and tickets, it was a lot cheaper to not get the free dining plan and just pay for food, because of how much we saved with the discounts.
but, next time we go when there's no special deal with the ddp, we're using it.
