Chips and salsa...

Queso Fundido - melted cheese with poblano peppers, chorizo, and flour tortillas $12.75 (no chorizo)

DSC00531_zpsd3e899c3.jpg

This, sadly, was awful and was like a brick of hard cheese.

Camarones a la Parrilla - grilled shrimp served over caramelized pineapple and chile de arbol sauce $12.75

This, however, was delicious!

Tacos de Camarones - Fried shrimp, chipotle-lime aioli, cabbage, lime and salsa verde, all served over flour tortillas served fresh homemade corn tortillas and rice $24.95

African Margaritas. For breakfast. Whoops.

Clockwise from far right...cheese blintz with cherry topping (sorry about the bites!) potato and leek frittata, veggie quiche, yams with coconut and mealie bread in the center. The bread was like sawdust, everything else was delicious.

Veggie quiche, breakfast potatoes, banana and melon.

DSC00592_zps8376016d.jpg

More cherry cheese blintz, more potato and leek frittata, a smidge of bread pudding with vanilla sauce, and grits and cheese.

I keep reading in reviews that the queso fundido at La Hacienda is awful, and not melted by the time it gets to the table. The rest of the meal looks good though.

Big Kahuna Platter

Can I tempt you to some more?

First night CS at Port Royale. I had half a chicken with rice and DD had the salmon, veg and corn bread.

Cinnamon Danish for dessert (which I had for breakfast) and Vanilla Monkey cupcake which went into the fridge and never got eaten.

Day 1 : Hollywood Studios
Studio Catering Co

Chicken sandwich without the chipotle dressing and fries.

DD had the Caesar wrap (without the ranch dressing)

The most divine Valentine's cupcakes EVER. Red Velvet, chocolate mousse and chocolate hearts.

1900 Park Fare

Food a bit bleh, to be honest.

Loved the pomegranate lemonade, though ...

Day 2 : Epcot

Lunch at Sunshine Seasons.

I had the salmon and DD had some sort of ham sandwich with potato salad.

Strawberry shortcake and carrot cake for dessert.

Dinner at Coral Reef.

I had the steak (substituted fries for the mash) and DD had the trout with beans.

Both had The Wave for dessert (mine with a chocolate birthday plaque).

Day 3 - Boma for breakfast

Freshly-made omelette with bacon (noticed afterwards it looks like a man), Mickey waffle and syrup (best not on the same plate as omelette), tea and Jungle Juice.

A couple of gorgeous pastries, then I was full!

Oinky over-filled her plate and no - she didn't eat it all!

My birthday treat.

Lunch at Yak and Yeti (counter service)

DD had the honeyed chicken and I had the sweet and sour. Both gorgeous, although the honeyed rice was so sickly neither of us could eat it. I apologise for the photo, but we forgot photographs before tucking in!

Chocolate mousse - tasted much better than it looked. DD's frozen lemonade in the background.

Raglan Road for dinner

Dreadful experience. I had the steak, which was so overcooked it was inedible. They took it away and instead of bringing a replacement, left me with no food at all for 15 minutes! Eventually realised their mistake and I reordered the salmon. Which I then couldn't eat as the greens were bitter, full of raw onion (which I hate) and the dressing was bizarre.

DD had the burger - and my onion rings from the steak - which she enjoyed. The chips were lovely - but I only got about 4 of them before they took my plate away and left me with nothing at all.

Dessert was the pear frangipan (cold, hard and lumpy)

and a lemon meringue pie with RAW meringue! DD said it was vile.

We won't be eating there again!

Day 4 - my birthday.
Breakfast at CP.

Bacon, made-to-order omelette, then Mickey Waffles with strawberries and a puffed donut. That left me pretty much stuffed!

Back to CBR for lunch, where I had their house salad (minus onions)

DD had a toasted sandwich and their handmade jerk chips

Dessert was strawberry Monkey cupcake - which had a surprise cone of chocolate fudge in the bottom. DD had a Mickey head ice cream which I didn't take a photo of.

Back over to The Plaza for dinner. Another disappointing meal.

I had the Angus burger, which was tasteless, unfortunately, and the chunky fries (what few I had) could have done with a few minutes longer in the fryer.

DD had the ham club sandwich, which she described of half a pig. Plain bread and quite frankly, not what I expect a club sandwich to look like! I also wouldn't put hot fries on top of cold, fresh bread!

I had the brownie for dessert. Very nice, but I was so full I could barely eat any.

DD had the lactose free icecream (way too big a portion) and two special cookies.

Day 5. We went off site shopping. Had lunch in Sweet Tomatoes, and then came home via POR as we wanted to try the build you own pasta or salad.

DD had the tomato penne pasta with mushroom and other bits and pieces. There wasn't one single thing in the whole place I wanted to eat, and ended up with the chicken nuggets as a last resort.

The cherry cobbler with Edy's strawberry ice cream made up for it, though!

DD had the chocolate brownie.

Day 6 - last full day.

Bought breakfast at food hall, but didn't take photos (DD had the Mickey waffles and I had a toasted bagel with Philly).

Lunch: Epcot - Sunshine Seasons again, as we were there and it was convenient for our next FP.

I had the salmon and strawberry shortcake again.

DD had the salmon as well, but had it with the tomato/onion salsa, and finished off with the Whoopie pie which was a bit sickly.

DD had a Cronut from a stall just beyond Canada. Interesting!

Dinner was at Chef Mickeys, and I have no idea why I didn't take a single photo of the food that night!

And there is no Disney food from our last morning, where we just bought some bread for toasting in the food hall.

Some miscellaneous Disney food photos from our February 2013 trip.

A Mickey rice treats with Reece's peanut butter 'M&Ms'.

Earl of Sandwich:

Frozen lemonade slushie

'Ohana

My special dish - which tasted of nothing except black pepper - I think the original with the marinades tasted better ... :rolleyes2

At DD's end, the noodles and veg, the pot stickers and marinated wings, the bread in the centre (divine), the unmarinated wings (my portion) which were lovely, and I think the server was dropping off chicken to DD and OH who is out of shot on the right.

What's left of the bread and butter pudding (sorry!) and the enormous icing plaque which completely hides the inedible birthday cupcake behind!

Writer's Stop at HS:

A refreshment break. From the left, 'seasonal' muffin (half vanilla/half strawberry, carrot cake cookie, and chocolate muffin on the right. DD's hand is there for scale: these muffins were over 4" across!

I thought I had more than this - but as we mostly stayed off site until this year, there aren't any further photos of Disney food.

How was the Cronut?? Hope they have them for the Food and Wine festival.
