Soupe a l'oignon Gratinee - the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese $7.99
002_zps7ad2ba6d.jpg

(I prefer my DH's version at home, I hate to say. But this portion is HUGE!)

Canard aux cerises, puree de patates douces et patissons - Duck breast and leg confit with cherries, sweet potatoes puree and patty pan $31.99
004_zps5a9f06cd.jpg

The duck was tender & delicious but I found the sides were rather bland.

ok, so it's not food, but Disney knows how to carry a theme:

French Onion Soup - topped with crouton and gruyere cheese $6.99
006_zps85e0d302.jpg

I still prefer DH's.

Potato Leek Soup $5.99
007_zps00b74f01.jpg

Pretty good. Even the baby ate some!

Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop - with au gratin macaroni, seasonal vegetables and red wine au jus $21.99
015_zpsfb6c501d.jpg

This is a *HUGE* portion. My DH can eat, and he couldn't finish this. The au jus was overly salty, and the chop itself was a little bland.

Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops - with seasonal vegetables served in puff pastry with a creamy lobster sauce $22.99
016_zps634165ab.jpg

I know the podcast crew raved about this, which is why I ordered it. I don't get it. It was just ok. Certainly nothing to write home about. The shrimp & scallops were cooked well, not chewy, which was nice. The sauce wasn't really memorable. The pastry had no flavor. Not even buttery. Nothing. I'm guessing the seasonal vegetables were mushrooms and some green leaf? Was that spinach? I think this menu is dumbed down big time.

Here's the highlight of the meal! *insert sound of angels singing here*
Lemon Meringue Cupcake - Vanilla sponge cake, lemon custard filling, flamed merinque icing and crunch $3.99
019_zpsb8eaf7c5.jpg

We've tried all the cupcakes here, and all are moist, flavorful, and delicious! Eat them with a spoon, don't try to take off the wrapper. SO, SO GOOD! And I'm not a huge cupcake fan.

What isn't pictured here are the kids' dinners. We ordered the steak for Conner. It was a cheap, bland, gristly cut of beef. Horrible. He couldn't even chew it, so that was $10 down the drain.

Ok, all in all, BOG is just ok to us. The atomosphere is SPECTACULAR! Disney outdid themselves here. However, the dinner service is lacking. It's not flavorful to us at all. There are better places to have dinner on property. However, we did enjoy the counter service when we were here for the passholder preview in November (I'll post pics when I can find them!)

Le Cellier -

Pretzel bread, Multi-grain bread, Sourdough bread
(This was my first time at Le Cellier, and I was so excited to try the pretzel bread after rave reviews here. I liked it, but I "loved" the sourdough bread, really loved it. Must be the Alaska in me...)

Filet Mignon (I had it served over mashed potatoes, because I don't care for mushrooms, although the mushroom risotto is supposed to be very good. Also, I like my meat well-done, so our server had the chef "butterfly" the tenderloin for me, so it was evenly cooked all around. I had never heard of that before!)

Maple Creme Brulee...excellent!
