Pictures from our March/April 2012 trip:

Artist Point:
180-1.jpg

Smokey Portobello Soup - with Roasted Shiitakes and Chive Oil--> I love creamed soups and I'm definitely a fan of cream of mushroom especially. However, I just wasn't feeling this. It was good but I wasn't big on the smokey flavor.

177.jpg

Asparagus appetizer (with sliced apple, balsamic reduction (I *think*) and parmesan cheese)-->It was delicious but I would have liked to see smaller asparagus used, it was hard to eat the apple and asparagus together (as it's intended) b/c the apple was so thinly sliced and the asparagus was so thick.

178-1.jpg

Butternut Squash Risotto-->Wow! This was soooo delicious. It was creamy and had great flavor. I'd get it again in a heartbeat.

179-1.jpg

Buffalo Steak-->Yes, it's quite rare (I apologize for those of you who don't like to see that rare of a cut). The chef recommended it that way because of how dense buffalo is. It was amazing. I stole one or two or maybe 5 bites from my husband as this was his entree. It was a lot better than the buffalo I had at California Grill, too.

Tutto Italia stand:
136.jpg

Italian sandwich-->Dry and small for a whopping $9! You'd be better off going to Subway and getting a $5 footlong because it would have tasted better.

137.jpg

Cheese ravioli-->This was good, just a really small amount for $10. It was maybe 6 inches wide and went about 1/4 inch deep. Similar to the ravioli portion they give at the Food & Wine Fest for double the price.

Rose & Crown:

066.jpg

I wish I could remember the name of this drink; maybe it was something sunrise? I apologize about that!-->This was delicious, quite strong and thank goodness we were eating as I was drinking this because it was going straight to my head. My favorite part is the hidden Mickey!

067-1.jpg

Scotch Egg appetizer-->Something that my DH and I have never tried and was recommended to us by my DSIL and almost DBIL. It was delicious and not a large portion which was great.

068-1.jpg

Rose and Crown Pub Burger--> Yum! I'm not quite sure how I managed to fit my mouth around it. I also shared half with my DH and I was still stuffed.

069.jpg

Corned Beef Sandwich--> DH enjoyed it, I'm not a fan of horseradish and it was so overpowering. I also didn't like how the sandwich appeared to have gone in a sandwich press but the cheese wasn't melted.

Fairfax Fare (Hollywood Studios):

108.jpg

Barbequed Pork Sandwich-->This was DH's but of course, I tried it! Yum! Do not write food at DHS off until you have tried this sandwich. It's not quite Flame Tree BBQ at AK but it's pretty darn close.

107.jpg

Macaroni and Cheese topped Hot Dog with Truffle Oil-->It's more like a spritz of truffle oil but that's fine because you only need a little bit to flavor your entire dish. The mac n' cheese was creamy and bacon was great (way better than bacon bits). The hot dog appeared to be all beef and the bun was NOT one of the dreaded wheat buns that crumble. Do I think it was worth $8+? No, but still good.

Boma:
118.jpg

Normally I don't care to post pictures of buffet food but the bananas foster french toast in the middle left of the plate is amazingly delicious. It was a new addition since the last time we were there and I hope they keep it!

Tony's Town Square:

114.jpg

Zucchini Fries--> They came with a sun-dried tomato dipping sauce and pair that with the lightly breaded, tender but still crisp zucchini and you have a party in your mouth. Delicious!

115.jpg

Spaghetti and Meatballs-->Basic but good. The meatballs we're really outstanding.

Wolfgang Puck Express:

084.jpg

Pepperoni Pizza-->In one word: disappointing. Their quality appears to have gone down within the past few years. The first time we had pizza from WGPE was in Dec. 2009 and it was delicious. This time was not so much.

085.jpg

Meatball Pizza-->This was better than the pepperoni but even DH agreed that it just isn't the same.

Sleepy Hollow (Magic Kingdom):

164.jpg

Nutella and Fruit Waffle Sandwich-->Holy tastebuds, batman! Get this. Don't even think about it; just do it!

Mizner's Lounge (Grand Floridian):

165.jpg

Chocolate Martini: Simply delicious. They use good chocolate, people. Not the generic syrup. Drink and be happy. :)

Boulangerie Patisserie (France Bakery):

140-1.jpg

Creme Brulee-->Yummy! It's a large portion, too.

Germany's Caramel Shop:

080-1.jpg

Caramel with Marshmallow Creme and some type of Caramel Fudge (DH got this): I liked my choice better. I was looking for a smooth tasting caramel treat and this fit the bar.

A picture of a messy buffet plate but so delicious! Clockwise from top: Saffron Rice, Fufu, Something Tasty w/ Peas, Sweet Corn & Spinach, Cabbage Slaw, Bobotie

Sorry, I missed the middle plate with the meat course. Too busy eating it. :D

Desserts, clockwise from 1 o'clock: Bread Pudding w/ sauce, Cheesecake, Lemon Custard, Zebra Dome, Something Yummy, and I Forget But It Was Good.

Turkey focaccia. I stole a bite. I don't know what they put on it but it was delicious. (This is my husband's "Why are you taking pictures of food again?" face.)

Fresh fruit tart. This was so fresh tasting! It also had a layer of hard chocolate on the bottom.
