Hi!

I was wondering. What are the pros and cons of disney floral v. outside florists.

Thanks!

I'm using an outside florist, it's saving me a whole lot of money...The only negative I can think of about not using Disney is that they do not communicate with the outside florist, you are the one telling them the time they need to set up and break it down but that just takes an email or phone call...Another perk when using an outside florist is that you can set up a mock-up appointment, unlike Disney they do not offer one and if they did they would probably charge you, lol. :rotfl:

I recommend 2 florists...John from Inbloom Events and Debbie from Atmospheres Floral & Decor, they are both great to work with. I knew that the flowers I wanted are considered "special order" type flowers and Disney would of charged me an arm and a leg. I've seen brides who have used Disney with just a simple round rose bouquet for $300 or more.

I think if your looking for in season flowers and not that much of it, Disney is the way to go.

This is my quote from Inbloom Events...

Hope this helps...let me know if you need anymore info?:thumbsup2

I'm wondering about this too...

obviously it would be less expensive to go with an outside vendor, but I'm wondering if the simplicity and peace of mind that would come from knowing Disney is taking care of it all is worth the extra $$

hmmm... decisions, decisions :)

Are you using two dfferent florists for your wedding?
I know you are using Debbie for some things but if you are using two florists, would you mind my asking why. Is it purely a price thing or is there another reason. I am thinking of using Debbie too, but would appreciate your honest thoughts about your choices. Perhaps you could PM me if necessary.
Thanks so much

I was using Debbie but unfortunately she didn't have the candelabra's I wanted so I decided to go with another florist but I really can't say anything negative about her she was great from the beginning and even returned my deposit...the candelabra's are a big aspect in my wedding so it can give it the vintage vibe I'm going for. John from InBloom Events was nice in enough to honor their price quote prior to me choosing Debbie, which in my case ended up coming lower and they have the exact candelabra's I want. They are both great and which ever you choose I'm sure your wedding flowers will be beautiful. :thumbsup2

I was in the same boat but it really isn't that much of a daunting task (at least I don't think so, lol)...for us it came down to price and what I was really willing to pay for flowers that will die in a week or less...my planner just advised me of the time the florist can enter the ceremony venue and then the time for the reception venue...the great thing is that both of the vendors I mentioned above have done Disney weddings, so they know how they work.

We are also using outside vendors for our chiavari chairs and linens, which is also saving us big bucks:thumbsup2

I just got me BEO from Disney, you can check it out on my last PJ page.

We're also using an outside florist and I am really happy with my decision and so excited to see his work. The pros with an outside florist is the price is generally lower, and you can also get an estimate much earlier than you could with Disney. I wanted to know exactly how much it was going to cost far in advance. That way if I "had to" have something, I could plan for it. I also didn't want to compromise my vision when it came to floral.

The cons are that Disney will not deal with your florist so you need to coordinate things, but that is basically telling them the times they can set-up and your planner will tell you that. Disney just doesn't want to be responsible if something "goes wrong" which is understandable. I would try to get a recommendation from someone you trust and do some research for any outside florist you consider.

DH and I decided to keep things as smooth and easy as possible so we used Disney floral. Not only were all the flowers fresh and beautiful, but after carrying my bouquet against my stomach for most of the day one rose fell off and another was broken. I didn't mind, I guess I was clinging onto them too tight :rotfl2: but my wedding planner right away when she noticed had someone from floral meet us at Commander's Terrace and they replaced the two roses which was totally not necessary, but just another example of how great Disney is!
Like other brides we kept our floral budget simple but elegant so it did not cost us a fortune. I can't wait to see the pics!

The upside of using outside floral is that it probably will be cheaper and you can shop around for that. Downside is that it doesn't count towards minimum, so you technically could be spending more money, you can't use them at certain locations, and you do have to deal with the organization yourself. If you're going to be filling your minimum before adding floral it might be worth it, especially for the table/chairs.
