Lol I wonder if adding ice cream has the same effect... haha

You can also add a banana to help it a bit

Shakes are hard to stick to
I don't recommend them unless you are locked in a prison cell

cmon people lets keep this thread going

i need it :worship:

i went for another 3hr walk yesterday (i work nightshift)
still eating well

let me explain what i eat for the day

first thing when i get up
i have a glass of water

then i dropped the kids off to school and go for my walk down to the shopping centre, i then do laps of the shopping centre as it takes 20 mins to circumnavigate the centre, so if i do 3 laps thats a hrs walking
usually i do 4 or 5, plus the half hr walk there and the half hr walk back

before leaving i pick up any supplies i might need for my lunch (which is always the same)

when i get back i make lunch
1 sandwich with half an avacado, those little thin sprout things, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, grated carrot and sometimes a very small amount of light philli cheese

before i eat that i have a full glass of water (thirsty or not) and then after i eat it i have another full glass of water

i then rest a little and watch some telly as my muscles are usually sore (though that seems to be getting less as i lose weight and exercise more)

around 2pm i do some housework as my family is always kind enough to ensure there is plenty to do :laundy:

then i pick the kids up from school by walking there (i used to drive around the corner :lmao:)

if at any stage im desperately hungry i have a piece of fruit (i tried some durion at work the other day, ill never do that again, it was disgusting) and some more water

at dinner i have my usual chilli con carne that i make up in big batches

its basically beans, refried beans, lentils, minced meat (premium) , some light sour cream, onions, spices, halapenos, brown rice all cooked and mixed together and it tatse quite nice, i portion it off into little tubs and have 1 every day, but if im in a hurry ill have one for lunch also (rare)

and now for the big news

im back on the scales baby
for the first time in quite a while the scales now tell me how heavy i am instead of saying "error" , i can play nintendo wii fit without it saying "please get off"

there is no way of knowing excactly how much i have lost in the last 3 weeks other than to guess it could be around 10 kilos

but the way i am doing it this time is different
im eating real food and learning how to control my portions
before i lost weight it was just because i was exercising my butt off but not eating correct

also i know some will say you have to eat breakfast
sure if you need to go for it
but my advice on the matter is different
its my understanding that the morning is for digestion and the first meal should be lunch to allow the body time and energy to digest the food from the previous day completely

but each to their own
im not advising anyone to do it this way or that

cmon keep the thread alive
keep working at it

by the way
when i get to WDW
im having breakfast :rotfl2:
ill reset my routine when i get back home

and im having coffee as well :cool1:
i love coffee but dont drink it at the moment due to my mission (weight loss)

coffee is a very adictive drug
the headache one gets when you stop is horrifying :scared:

I actually tried a different brand appetite suppressant shake today, cant remember the brand, but I'll find out. It actually says to use it with skim, so I did, and I swear it tastes just like Milo!! :lovestruc and yes the milk is definitely more filling!

I also tried Zumba for the first time tonight. It was a lot of fun, but not as strenuous as step, combat or spin. However I think it's one of those classes that once you get the steps down you'll be able to really get into it, and really get a sweat up. I felt like I was doing this the whole time  thats about how coordinated I am any way :lmao:

Sorry to have gone missing. Wouldn't you know that I would start a thread and not come back for a week... A bit like my exercise schedule.

I will try harder BecBennett.

In my absence I have been very good at eating breakfast each day and remembering to pack myself a healthy lunch instead of my favourite hot chips from up the road.

After my last walk I couldn't walk for a week, but tomorrow morning I shall dust of the runners and hit the hills again... I will chant 'each step gets me closer to Mickey'...

all good here :cool1:

im in the zone :thumbsup2

spent a few hrs today cooking my healthy chilli con carne
i got some cheap capsicums so i thought id add a few to see if it worked
wow, its ok, but its much hotter now
i can handle it but the kids arnt too keen on the burning lips :lmao:

i stuck to my plan completely today
no treats no nothing

to lose 30 kg in 10 months
i need every day to be solid

no more excuses for me

:woohoo:

Great work Happy Fingers. The water is so important. Two drink bottles a day... It is so much easier to do this with the weather warming up. Keep up the good work.

still cruising

food is still good

but what i did want to mention is that i played roller hockey last night (usual monday night stuff)

got there at 4.30 whilst my daughter and son played their games
luke played 3 games total, Brianna played 1 and then got a lift home with her mum

my game finally was at 8.30pm
my son plays seniors (he's 10 lol) basically because he is so good at the game he is allowed to play with the big boys

we are playing the top of the ladder team and we are getting pumped the whole game (but we are having fun), right near the end and after a few previous failed attempts, i make a move towards goal, ball flys from one end of the rink to the other, its recieved deep behind the goal in the back corner by my son, i tap my stick to signal for the pass as im in scoring position

the pass comes, i swing, i score :cool1: my very first goal ever :dance3:
goals are very hard to come by in this game and to get my first one as a result of a solid assist (thats hockey talk) from my son was super special :wizard:

i left the rink with 3 mins left to give the interchange a go ( i was knackered anyway)

i was on a high for the rest of the night

pirate:

going for a big long walk this morning

and yeh
lots of water

Ok this thread appears to be my own personal domain :rotfl2:

so ill keep adding to it as the days pass

ive reduced my food intake even further, not on purpose it just happened

i used to have 2 pieces of fruit a day
but i found i was eating them just for the sake of eating them

i wasnt actually desperately hungry
so i figured if im not hungry then why eat

so now i just have my home made sandwich for lunch (save 9 bucks instead of going to "healthy habits" everyday

and trust me there is nothing on it that should not be there
no meat, no cheese, no butter, no salt or pepper
just good wholesome food

so i always have a glass of water before and after eating

and for dinner i continue to have my home made chilli con carne (small portion) with 2 lebanese flat breads for dipping into it

and ive stopped eating mixed nuts

and thats it
thats all i eat for the whole day, every day :scared1:

i find myself cathing up on all those little round the house maintenance jobs that ive been neglecting, I was up on the roof today putting on the second coat to some painting
so i took in plenty of sun (vitamin D)

mowed the lawns the day before
and there is plenty more for me to do

if the weather is bad and i cant work outside the house then i go for a long walk

so im still cruising

am i hungry ?
sure i am

do i get occasional mild dizzy spells when i stand up from sitting
yeh sometimes but hey, its all under control

but i really need to lose this weight so i can enjoy what could possibly be a once in a lifetime trip to usa to its utmost fullest

so thats it for now
bedtime for me :santa:

Happy Fingers

Sorry to be upfront but dont you think eating the same thing everyday for 12 months is going to be tiresome.

I would be worried that once you get to Disney, (on deluxe dining plan) you will put it all back on (and then some) While I admire your effort it would be better to have a more sustainable plan.

I think your body just gets used to the abuse :confused3

before i could eat a large pizza, a garlic bread, a bottle of coke and then be thinking what am i gonna have for desert :rolleyes1

i was on a downward spiral :guilty:

for now
its working and im fine with it
i am losing weight at a steady pace
my clothes are fitting better, i have more energy, and i am happier :woohoo:

yes i will put weight on when i go to wdw

I give you my word :lmao:

the 1 week on the ship will be like a stomach warm up
by the end of that week i will be ready for the assault

:dance3::yay:

Can I join in?
I'm currently doing Weight Watchers and water aerobics, for those of you that think water aerobics is only for oldies, I dare you to try it :rotfl2:

10 months and a bit to our trip, my DH and I don't want to be the fatties on the plane :lmao:

of course you can

hey i was starting to get lonely

i feel like a reformed smoker feels when he is in a room of smokers :lmao:
everyone loves their food here and im not saying that they shouldnt

im just at a point in my life where i have to go without the foods that i enjoy for a period of time

its a sacrifice  thats what it is

hmm water aerobics
i might give that a crack

i know what you mean by the plane
you never want to have to be the one that has to ask for the seatbelt extension

Water Aerobics is so good for you and an awesome work out... I have found a place that does water aerobics followed by pilates on a Thursday night. I will start the week after next at these, end of year concerts and the like with the kiddies wont get me there tonight or next week but I have put them in the diary. Water Aerobics is a great resistance workout whilst being nice to the joints. You also don't notice the sweat in the water. I highly recommend.

Until then I shall keep doing the stretches and resistance at bed time :yay::yay:

I had to go off my diet for a little bit as my UC started playing up, I'm hoping to go back on it in the next few days, but I'm worried that the diet is perhaps what caused the upset in the first place :confused3 I hope not, coz the diet was really working for me.

At the moment I cant quite break the 60kg barrier, hopefully if I can get back on the diet I'll surge past it, and down to my goal of 55kg, just in time for our wedding. :lovestruc

Tomorrow is gardening day - mowing, weeding, tilling, mulching etc. but if it's still raining like it has been for the past week I'll turn it into heavy housework day - vacuuming, cleaning light fittings, scrubbing showers and tile floors, and then maybe a go on my leg magic just to give it a boost.

Ok Bec if ever you feel like you have your work cut out

consider this
i am 2 and one half times heavier than you :rotfl2:
i could pick you up and spin you around like a twirling baton :lmao:

my ideal weight is around 110kg

i had one meal in which i crashed a few days ago
but i was back on the horse that threw me the very next morning so all is well

so keep it up everyone :dance3:

I am currently sitting at around 97, having lost close to 7kg on WW
I am wanting to get down to about 60 (seems sooo far away) and work stress is not helping i'm sure, it just makes me want to eat crap

I also haven't been sleeping great :( which won't help with weight loss

I'm thinking of looking for another job....

you should do what i do

most days i just sit around and watch the tv :happytv:
the pay is quite good for what it is
the only stress we get around here is if someone leaves the toilet seat up :rotfl2:

My goal = 15kg weight loss between now and September 2011 when we go back to WDW.

That's a little under 2kg a month, and I know I can do it. I'm not having another trip like 2010 with sore feet and hiding behind the kids in the photos. I want a trip like my one in 2009 where I lapped it up.

But to kick start my enthusiasm I need to see a couple of kilos in the first WEEK or I just give up.

What do you guys recommend for a diet? (Any special plan/) I need plenty of variety in what I'm eating.

I am doing WW but also really concentrating on eating a lot of high protein foods, just because it takes your body a lot more energy to process it.
Also mostly fresh foods, not too much processed stuff, and very little take away (sushi and subway only LOL).
For snacks there are new Special K bars (mint being my fav) basically Special K cereal with a layer of choc on the bottom.

No alcohol :headache: and no coca cola LOL

Fruit and veggies.

I have walked three mornings this week and have eaten breakfast everyday.

I agree that WW works the best and allows you to eat most foods. Choices an consequences.

I don't ever get on the scales but I am feeling heaps better in my clothes. It is all about how I feel and I just want to feel fit with a spring in the step.
I am even forgetting how good hot chips taste.
