Disney Fantasy ~ October 4, 2014 ~ Eastern Caribbean

Whew......

My DW (pikaboo27) and I decided that 7 days on board the Fantasty sounded a WHOLE lot better then 3 days after a cruise at WDW so we changed our plans. Previously booked on the 4 night on the Dream, departing 10/5.

Cast of characters:
Me (DH) - sdlipton aka Grumpy (35 when we cruise)
My lovely wife (DW) - Pikaboo27 (She'd kill me if i wrote it)
Our munchkin (DS) - Wicket (2.5 when we cruise)

Room - 8006 (Cat 9D). We were originally booked in 9547 on the Dream, a category 10A but that same room wasn't available on this Fantasy cruise. SO when our AMAZING Dreams Unlimited Travel Specialist told us that this new room was just a few dollars more AND told us about how HUGE it was; we jumped at the opportunity.

We are thinking about doing FE for this cruise, can someone post the thread that talks about Fish Extenders in more detail or care to share their experiences?

Pre-Trip Planning so far:
We are booked for the early seating, and right now we are thinking of doing the half day, afternoon Orient Bay beach excursion in St. Maarten. IN St. Thomas, I'm thinking about playing some golf at Mahogany Bay, any other DIS'ers interested in filling out a foursome. I know my DW and Wicket are hoping to get together with other DIS'ers for some shopping/beach time on St. Thomas if anyone else with young kids is on the thread yet.

Ohh.. we are planning on staying at WDW on Friday, October 3rd; probably at SSR on points and then taking a town car service to the port on Saturday AM. Anyone have town car recommendations that can take us from the Airport to SSR and is good to also take us from SSR to Port Canaveral?

Lastly, anyone have recommendations on what night to do Palo for dinner? We don't want to miss ANY of the rotational dining restaurants OR pirate night so your input is appreciated.

Soo.... with that, the deposit is made, plans to pay off the cruise early next year are in the works and we can't thank Dreams Unlimited ENOUGH for Theresa and John's work in making our trip magical so far.

Hey all! We are excited to be booked on this cruise! This will be our 2nd DCL cruise, our 1st on the fantasy. We are actually traveling with my parents who this will be their 1st DCL cruise! We also are excited because friends we made on our first DCL cruise will be on this voyage as well! It will be myself, my husband, my parents and our girls age 8 and 6 when we sail! I will be sure to sign up for the FE and the FB page! :)

Hello! My family just booked this cruise. It is our very first. It will be DH (Darren), DD (Chloe) (7 at the time) and me (Stephanie). We are so excited. We are booked in a verandah room on Deck 8, midship.

I would love any advice on the excursions and a hotel in Cocoa Beach for the night before. I was thinking about one of the hotels that offers the cruise parking, but I don't want to deal with the shuttle. I am currently looking at the Best Western that offers the 40% off parking at the port but am open to suggertions. Just needs to be clean and nearby as we will not be there long.

I have requested entry to the FB group and will check out the FE group now. Did I mention we are excited?

Hi SSDeverell... Welcome. Just a quick note to say hello and that we too will have a 7 year old on the cruise (also named Chloe)! Don't tell me your Chloe was also born in August!

We were on this exact cruise Oct. 2012. You're going to have a blast, my wife and kids loved it so much we booked again. This time we're also bringing Grandma, Sister, and her two kids.

Oh how fun!! No, her birthday is in March. My DD loves to meet other girls with the same name. There were 3 in her kindergarten class last year - all spelled differently.

I think your family is in the same FE group as us. We are just so excited about all of it. My cousin's family is going on the same exact cruise this year, so now I'm jealous I have to wait a whole year. At least I will be at WDW instead.

This is our first so I am unable to offer any valuable advice but we're booked at the Country Inns and Suites.:)

Hiya!

Wife and I are booked for the last leg of our mega cruise adventure! Kind of a 10 year anniversary trip.

We've been on the Wonder once before, our first cruise ever, back in 2011 and had a great time so are making our way our to warmer waters.

Gonna have a couple days in Florida before this cruise, so may attempt WDW or similar while there. Haven't booked any hotels for the Florida stay yet. Any suggestions for me to check out?
