**Disney Fantasy June 30th, 2012- EASTERN**

Mama22 -
I cannot get to the picture. You live in downtown NY? As in a highrise building? You are braver than I am.

That would have been SO cool if you got to go over and get a closer look.

I've sat through 5 hockey games in the last 24ish hours (and have one more to go!!), and have frozen my tail off. Looking forward to the warm water of Castaway Cay!!!

DCLaholic-mom- I am sorry you cannot see the picture:( I am not technologically savvy! I live in NJ in suburbia, no high rise for me, lol. I work right across the Hudson River (on the Jersey side) from where the cruise ships dock in Manhattan so I was able to get a good view when I went out to the overlook at my lunch hour;). The distance is probably less than a mile across the river at this point. She really did look nice! :goodvibes Definitely good marketing on Disney's part(no surprise) bringing the ship to NYC- lots of people talking about her around here this week. If I wasn't booked already I would be considering it after seeing her!

Hi Everyone! So excited. We just booked this cruise for our summer vacation to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday, our 20th wedding anniversary and my daughters high school graduation! I'm hoping that my mother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law will be joining us as well.

I will also be on the Fantasy from March 23-26 for a travel agent preview cruise and conference so I can report back on the ship!

I've cruised with Disney to the Med in 2010 and then to Bahamas on the Dream and Wonder. And have cruised with RCCL to W. Caribbean but have never been to E. Caribbean:) So stinkin' excited!

Would anyone be interested in a group brunch at Palo? I'm not sure that Disney will do this on the Fantasy but when I sailed to the Med on the Magic, I organized a group brunch and it was wonderful. Just let me know if you are intereseted. I believe the max is 12 guests for the private room at Palo. I can do a bit more research on this too.

Yay! another high school graduate! We seem to have a lot of grads on this cruise, maybe we should be organizing a grad party! lol

My husband and I would be interested in the Palo group brunch. Hopefully they will let you organize it.

Can't wait to hear about the preview cruise!

I was just telling my daughter about the other grads onboard and she is so excited! I haven't had a chance to read this entire thread so do you all plan to have a DisMeet onboard? I know my daughter would love to meet up with other high school grads!

I have an email into Disney Cruise regarding reserving the private room at Palo. I'm not quite sure if the Fantasy will offer this but it doesn't hurt to ask and I will keep you all posted. The private brunch was one of the highlights on our Med cruise back in 2010!

I'm counting down the days until I get to cruise on the Fantasy! So excited!

Marlower,

Yes a DisMeet was discussed somewhere along the thread. Because no one has been on the ship yet, no time or place has been discussed. Maybe you can suggest a place for the meet after your preview cruise? Can't wait to hear all about it.

I will be happy to scope out a meeting location!!

Hi Marlower! Yay! Another high school grad! It looks like the group of college-age people is turning out to be great! We definitely do need to get them together on the very first day of the cruise, and also encourage all of them to attend the first DCL organized meet-and-greet onboard. They will all have so much more fun if they get a good group their own age.

By the way... we are similarly celebrating. Our 25th wedding anniversary and our son's high school graduation.

We would definitely be interested in a group brunch, especially if on an at-sea day! I feel fortunate we have a travel agent in our DIS group who can scope out the ship for us and help us set up a meet or two! Keep us posted and have FUN on your upcoming Fantasy preview trip! I'm jealous! :wizard:

I agree, as long as the high school grads meet up at the beginning, they will have a blast:)

I believe the Palo brunch is only available on sea days and I have the email into DCL to see if it is available for either the 1st or 2nd sea day:) I so hope it is because it is the best brunch ever!! If I remember correctly, their is a minimum number of guests needed to book the private room at Palo but I can't remember what that number is. Hopefully, I will hear back from DCL soon on this and I will keep all of you posted!

Oh, I also requested to join the FB group:cheer2: I wonder if the high school grads would be interested in a FB group as well so they can start chatting now!?! They will have a lot in common I'm sure:thumbsup2

FB for grads great idea! Would someone's teen like to set up a FB group? I will ask my son if he is willing. He might just look at me like I have two horns on my head though!

We just changed our sailing date to this ship for June 30th. So excited!!!!:cheer2:
This will be our very first cruise. Excited to get all the tips you all have to share and worried about packing already...so tips and tricks are much appreciated.

It will be four of us me, DH, DD(8), and DS (4)
I'm trying to keep it a secret from the little ones until right before we go and then we will reveal the big surprise. We will see if I can hold out. Looking forward to this. And want to also participate in the FE. Want to do as much as we can and this sounds like so much fun.

Welcome!:flower3:

My DS will be 3.5 so I am glad for some more young kids. It seems we have a lot of young adults on this cruise (which of course give me hope for many many more cruises as my kids get older).:rotfl:

We actually closed the original FE at 20 cabins, but it seems there have been quite a few people joining recently, so you may want to consider a second group. I think there are 3-4 new people, and there may be several more before it is all said and done.

Hi! I have a son who is 4 as well. What a fun age to be on a big boat with Mickey!:thumbsup2 Been on cruises before and it is always a challenge not to overpack-at least for me. But with the baggage fees I am really going to do better this trip, hopefully!:lmao:

I understand but sad that the FE was closed. After reading the boards for the past hour and a half to catch up...page 20 stated it was closed. This sounds like a busy week. The other week we were booked on was much smaller. Hopefully we can still do a meet and greet so some of our little ones can meet up. :)

Is anyone interested in an FE2 group for this cruise?

My DD will be really excited with all of the high school grads on the ship. She is really looking forward to this cruise :cool1:. My DH and I would love to do a group brunch. A few cruises back we met a great group and are still in contact with many of those families. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help set this up.

Susan

I have never done the FE before, but it sounds like fun. I would join you for another group. :cheer2:
