Disney Fantasy Eastern October 22, 2016

Looks like most of the thread is for new posters or only those interested in the Fish extenders...

Has anyone sailed the Fantasy before? Anyone have excursions in mind yet?

This will be our third sailing on the Fantasy. We actually changed from the Oct. 29 NY Magic sailing to this one as the cruise price was virtually identical. We live in NJ so we could have driven to the port and we'd never sailed the Magic before (would have been our Grand Slam Gold cruise) but, for the money, I'd rather be in the Caribbean on the Fantasy.

We live at the beach at home so we tend not to do beach excursions and the like. We mostly like sightseeing and meeting the people of the islands. All the cultural experience also gives us an excuse to take the kids out of a week of school every year!

Finally going back to DIS to do our FE and mixology! The social media group for this sailing is just too big and I'm not a Facebook fan anyway (only created an account to do FE on previous cruises). I'd love to do mixology. We've done it on a previous cruise and it was great fun. I think you just get a list going and call DCL about a month before to reserve a slot. Who do I PM about FE for our family?

We have 5 rooms going on this cruise. It will be my first time on the Fantasy, but have sailed DCL 5 times already. Oct. can't come soon enough!

BTW, just wanted to tell you I always enjoy your photos on the DIS. I'm planning on getting a new camera for this cruise and maybe I can take some that are a fraction as good as yours! LOL

Awesome. This is my first Fantasy. I have been on the Magic 3 times and the Dream twice. I was thinking of doing the Wonder next year but now my older daughter is getting married so I have to see what those plans are before another trip planned. Darn kids. LOL.

I haven't signed up for the FE or mixology over there and I might bail out of the group in favor of this one, but I'd be happy to add you. As I said, I don't really use those sites so I don't know what to do.

Hi All--new to the site, although have "lurked" for a while (so forgive me if I'm not quite familiar with this sites functions) . This will be my family's 2nd DCL, again on the Fantasy--we did another eastern Carib. Feb. 2015. We are super excited to be going on a Halloween cruise (tried to keep it a surprise for the kids until we got to the airport but my youngest son's birthday is Sunday and we are giving him his "gift" early; however they don't know they will be going to WDW AFTER the cruise for a week)! I would really like to join the FE group but reading through previous posts, it looks like I'll need to PM someone when I've got enough posts. But I'll introduce myself and my scalawags:

I PM'ed "Fields3619" but haven't gotten a response. It says they haven't posted since July 8. Sometimes these boards aren't all that active until closer to the cruise, but with PIF (paid in full) dates being around now and excursion choices to be made and onboard activity advice to be sought, there usually is a little more activity around this time. I'm hoping to do the FE and mixology over here because the Facebook group is too big and overwhelming for me, even though they break it down into smaller groups. I'm not Facebook-y anyway so... BTW, I saw your post over on the regular cruise thread about the pressure to provide expensive FE gifts. This will be our sixth cruise and we've done FE every time and have never felt any pressure to outdo anyone on gifts. We like to stick to the homemade variety. The best FE gifts I've ever gotten were handmade. I especially like the ones that reflect a little of the guests' home, like chocolates from the UK, for example. You just give what you like and what you feel comfortable doing. My kids love checking those pockets every time we return to the room and we love sharing with other passengers. We give ours out in on one day. Others spread their giving over the cruise. It's up to the individual. We give personalized magnets sometimes and love seeing them on the stateroom doors afterward. So fun that our gift made someone happy! That's the spirit of the FE and that's why I participate.

Hmmm, I'll drop a message. I'd like to do a FE group. I'm not "Facebook-y" either. I couldn't even locate our cruise over there (that's how inept I am at looking things up on it ). Good to " know that there area FE groups that are fine with simple gifts. Our kids go to a private school and we get enough of "that kind of thing" at the school, if you catch my drift. I just want the kids to have fun with the activity. And speaking of...at least there is activity over here. On another forum that I'm a member of, there's a lot of info, but no cruise meets organized, so I get all excited whenever I see anyone who's on the same cruise as us!
