I have concerns over our Disney Fantasy Deck 6 Aft staterooms after reading many accounts of significant vibration problems. We are specifically in rooms 6673 and 6682. For those who have stayed on deck 6 aft is it really that much of an issue? And any reviews of those specific staterooms would be great! We have been on the Disney Fantasy before deck 9 midship and there were vibrations but I didn't find it to be that bad. Thank you so much!!

We were on the Fantasy in 2014, so I'm not sure if things have been fixed, or not. We had two different rooms (B2B) One was aft and the vibration there was horrible. Sitting in bed, with head against headboard, watching TV was a no-go. Think of the vibrating beds in a cheap motel, it was that bad.

Our second room was more midship. While the vibrations were less noticeable there, they were still present. And in Animator's Palate, I had a glass of water go "dancing" off the table (and mine wasn't the only one).

The vibrations were most evident when the ship was cruising at around 20 knots.

Reports of these vibrations in the aft of the Fantasy have been made pretty much since she entered service. If it hasn't been fixed yet, hopefully, DCL will address the problem during her upcoming dry dock.

Oh I was worried about this :/ Thank you so much for your reply though! Was it the whole cruise?

Well, sort of. As I said, the really bad vibration was most noticeable during cruising at 20 knots or more. So, pretty much, after leaving ports when trying to make long distances overnight.

But there was some small vibrations at slower speeds, but they felt more like "normal" ship movement (due to the currents and/or wind).

Ok I really appreciate you letting me know your experience! I think we might be changing rooms :) Thank you so much!

I think they might have addressed and fixed those issues in late January /early February when they had those propulsion issues flare up. We were on the cruise that had an extra sea day and missed CC, because there was propulsion loss and we had to get back to PC on time. :) I am pretty sure they fixed it before they could sail again on February 6th and they were delayed sailing out that afternoon.
In fact, when we were in the Tube one afternoon for the CC reception, a couple of glasses vibrated right off the table. Bad vibration indeed.

We were also on the Fantasy this past late September and had no issues in either the Tube or Animator Palate this time.
Have a great cruise!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! Your cruise in late Feb/early Jan sounds like an adventure!

I just cruised on deck 5 aft on the Fantasy a couple weeks ago and didn't notice any horrible vibration. I mean, some...you can feel the ship is moving. And it definitely is rather pronounced when you're maneuvering into port. But nothing awful.

It was quite exciting! We left on January 30th and got back on the 6th of February. The itinerary was Eastern Caribbean so we had 2 sea days in a row, then Tortola, then St. Thomas, another Sea day and CC on Friday.
At about 11 AM on Thursday (sea day) the captain (Thord) made an announcement that we would be unable to stop at CC because we were having to cruise much slower than normal due to "mechanical challenges". Meaning left propulsion was out. Anyway, they gave us 20% off a future cruise and a $200.00 per cabin on board credit to use for the remainder of the cruise. Which they did not even have to do, but for which we were appreciative. :)
This past September cruise (September 24th to October 1st) was the same itinerary and this time we missed St. Thomas due to good old Hurricane Matthew creating some high winds. (This was the week before he landed anywhere.
So much excitement on this particular itinerary...we are going to try it again in September 2017 and see if we can hit all three ports!

Disney really seems to handle the unexpected well!! I am very hopeful you will make all 3 ports in September!! You have a lot of fun vacation stories to tell :)

They do definitely handle things well. :) Haha...yes, lots of fun memories.

We were on Deck 6 aft on the Fantasy a few years ago. It was terrible. We ended up changing rooms after the first sea day because my husband started to get a persistent severe headache from it. He never gets bothered by motion and as soon as we moved it went away.

We were on the Disney Fantasy, Deck 6 Aft, this past September - right by the Aft elevators - and did not notice any bad vibration! I'm sensitive to that stuff, so I think I would have noticed!? Only when we maneuvered into a port one day there was some "shaking" of the ship.

I do hope that there won't be an issue!? ...because we are booked aft again, this time Deck 9....

Did you experience these vibrations during cruise or while docking.
Were these vibrations felt in normal seas? Or excited seas?

Deck 9 midship vibrations I thought were rare? ? ?

What year was this if you don't mind sharing?

We are all trying to figure out these Fantasy vibrations.

TIA

We were on the September 24th Fantasy this year 9632 aft and it was pretty bad - all day and night and honestly no real rhyme or reason except of course nothing when we were docked ... I also felt it while At cabanas We've sailed the dream 9622 and felt nothing so it's definitely the fantasy ...

I think a prop/blade or shaft is bent/out of balance. But of course others here will tell us it is tides, currents, speed, winds, normal ship functions, fetch, period, ebbs and flows, etc.

They likely haven't sailed aft on an eastern often racing to CC. :)

I admit the vibration reports do seem erratic. Reports are often incomplete. Data is thin.

Who is going to tabulate all disboard Fantasy trip reports about vibration and spreadsheet it with weather, tide, buoy and fetch reports interlaced?

Let's not forget a deck plan showing the distribution of frequency, pitch and vibration intensity by level, location and cabin.

We were on the Thankgiving 2014 cruise (speaking of which Happy Thanksgiving everyone!) The seas were ROUGH the first two days. I was surprised we felt it being deck 9 but the bed vibrated (not bad by any means) and I wasn't sure what it was haha. But the seas were rough and it was an eastern Caribbean. Mainly felt in open water and briefly while docking.

We were on a 7 night eastern in October 2015 and as mentioned once we got about 20 knots, which was only the last couple days of the cruise, there was a vibration, we were in stateroom 9610. I remember going to an evening show in The Tube and the screens that they had for the TV projectors were shaking and in the Buena Vista Theater while watching a movie there was a rattling that you could hear over the movie where I was sitting. Even the towel animal that was on our bed that night had the shakes. I sure hope that in the upcoming dry dock that they're taking the time to fix this issue.
