Disney Fantasy, August 18, 2012 - Western Caribbean

Hey princessbelle Im beginning to think we are the only 2 cruisin where is everyone? lol we are almost at the 15 month mark yeah! Last cruise we kept track of who posted every 100 posts Im at 59 I think right now wonder who will hit the 100 post. Me or you lol:thumbsup2

I think we must be the only ones. 15months sounds so longs but its actually moving quite quickly. It was 18 months when we booked. And its actually 14months and 2 weeks until we leave home which sounds even better. I wonder when it will start to fill up here with other crusiers. Last time we cruised we had 35 families. But I cant remember how far our they started posting.

Yup me too, I ve been thinking about remy or perhaps palo, one thing for sure I want to do is the alone time at the spa. On the last 2 cruises I had it booked then cancelled but this time its a done deal as we dont plan on doin as many excursions on this trip.Im going to book a spa treatment for my grandaughter as a surprise since they now include a teen spa. My grandchildren are not gonna want to get off the ship all the kids areas look so cool on the dream so I can only imagine the fantasy will be the same if not better.Well its Victoria day weekend here and that means its the all night drive in , the new pirates of the caribbean is one of the shows playing and we plan on going to see it Just hope its not the last show playing and we have to sit through 3 others before it plays! Might have to put an air mattress in the back of our truck for a little nap before the show if thats the case!LOL:rotfl2::rotfl::scared1:pirate:

We'd love to do Remy but I don't know if I'm brave enough to attempt it just yet. My six year old (who will be 7 on the cruise) was 4 last cruise and we got buzzed out of our Palo dinner 3 times to go to her in the kids club. I know she's older this time but she's a bit shy ands Remy would take longer and I'm not confident she will stay for that long. Your right though, the kids area's look amazing. Maybe she will be happy to stay. The 10 year old (its sounds funny saying 10 as she is only 8 at the moment) is hard to drag out of the club. She just loves it. We are planning dinner and brunch in Palo but its hard to find a night for Palo with everything else going on. The alone time in the spa would be fantastic. I have been looking at that. We did the Rasul and the Couples massage last time which were fantastic. I'm not sure what we will do this time spa wise but definitely something special. I love the idea of the teen spa. My girls aren't old enough for that yet but want to do the 'My First Facial' and 'My First Manicure' at the Grand Floridian. They sound great and are aimed at the 4-12 year olds. We have done Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique twice before at WDW along with Pirates League and the younger one wants to do BBB again. But they are both impressed now that they see its going to be on the ship.
DH and I are looking forward to see POC. You'll have to let me know what you think. Its hard for us to go to see the same movie at the same time though. The last few movies we've seen have been HOP, Rio, and Tangled. All kid suitable.

Sorry I have not been around much, my wife's pregnancy has gotten a little bit complicated (everything is okay, but she is on bed rest) which means that I have less free time than I would like, but it really makes me look forward to this trip all the more.

As for Remy's, our daughter will be just over a year so I do not know if we will do it, Palo's is always a must for us though.

Sorry to hear about your wife Chris , but glad she is okay, you both are going to have earned a great vacation! Your little soon to be princess will be a very lucky baby going on her first cruise.princess: :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for posting that link Suzanne! I'm such a geek - I actually got goosebumps and started tearing up. I'm sooooo flippin excited. :cheer2: But I've got to take it all in in small doses or I'm afraid that I'll either burn myself out before we even get on the plane or I'll have a heart attack. Neither are an optimum choice. ;)

Beautiful, beautiful ship and I can't wait for Animator's Palette. The article said there were templates to draw your character, right? That would be hilarious watching my stick figure dance around with Mickey if they don't have templates. :lmao:

When did you all book? I booked the 4 of us into an 8C back in February. Lately I've been checking to see if the price went up since then but all I've been finding is that the Deluxe Family Oceanview (8A, 8B, 8C) isn't even available anymore - at least for a party of 2A, 2C. Wow!

We booked in march and Im finding the same as far as the 8 cat being booked up. Was trying to get one for my other daughter and family but nothing avail. at this point in time ,so may have to go with a different cat.I keep checking though just in case one opens up.:thumbsup2

princessbelle I will let you know what I thought about potc, we saw tangled on our cruise in jan.I loved it! Yes 14 months and 2 weeks sounds much better!:thumbsup2

As of yesterday: 14 months, 2 weeks or 65 weeks. :scared1: Both sound way too far off. :rotfl2:

I might have even convinced my mom last night of flying down a few days before the cruise and heading over to Universal. The last time we were at US/IOA was a few months before Harry Potter land ;) opened and now I hear that they're making an attraction around the movie Dispicable Me. That is one of my DS's favorites. So we may just have to fly down Wednesday night, hit US/IOA on Thurs & Fri and then head to the port first thing on Saturday. :yay:

I'm already into super planning mode. What am I going to do with myself for the last few weeks leading up to the cruise after ressies and excursions are booked?!?!

Believe it or not, I'm ALREADY planning the next cruise! I haven't even been on my first cruise yet and I'm already planning the second. :upsidedow Seriously, my youngest DB has always wanted to go to Alaska. He'll graduate HS in 2014 so I figure we can book an Alaska cruise while we're on the Fantasy. :cool1: Hope Disney will still sail to Alaska in 2014.

ETA: holy cow - my 1,100th post! I would never have thought when I first joined the DIS that I'd ever have that high of a post count. :)

I get goosebumps and tears too so I'm a geek right there with you. The ship does look awesome. I can't imagine getting everything done that I want too in the time we are onboard. Animators Palette looks amazing. Last time it was easy to pick a Palo night because we requested a dining rotation (that we were lucky enough to get) and just went with the second Animators Palette night with no show. Now there will be a show on the second night which we wont want to miss. Oh the dilemma. :confused3 Not sure about the drawing though. Not one of my better skills.
We booked in early March and the price is still the same as it was then. We had looked at upgrading to concierge, but the price difference is just too high with everything else we have to pay for. (nearly $3500 per cabin x 2 on top of what we have paid). That did go up $700 but has come back down again. We are in Category 5D - Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah. There seems to be plenty of those available. If I start a dummy booking, I can still select my own cabin.

Add me to the list. I can't help myself with the planning. I've also started on the FE gifts.
We have also spoken about another cruise although I have no idea when I'd be able to fit it in. It was hard enough coming up with dates for this one. I hope I've chosen right but too bad if I haven't because I'm going anyway. We've had to squeeze it in between kids activities - mainly ballet. With two girls, ballet exams and ballet competitions, we had to make sure they were around here at the right time. And then last night the older one started Cheerleeding. This is pretty new in Australia so I didn't really know what to expect. But by the look of it, this is going to take up a bit of time also. Just add it to the list with basketball, swimming, musical theatre and horseriding. What was I thinking.

You were thinking that you all need a break from all those activities that keep you so busy throughout the year!:woohoo::dance3:

Yeah, everything is settled down, there was just a very elevated risk of early delivery (that started about 10 weeks ago and she has been on bedrest almost since then), but there have never been any contractions, pains, etc. Most people treasure these last few weeks before the baby comes because things get hectic once they do, I am hoping they are over quickly so DW and I can tackle things together again.
