Has anybody done these? and how do they work.
I am sure you can find out beforehand what park is open extra hours before travellingis this correct?
Are all attractions open?

*sorry for all the questions I have dp hounding me*:rotfl:

You can check park, parade and event hours including the Extra Magic Hours (EMH) either on the Disney website or on the main DIS site:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/earlyentry.htm

Each park has either an extra hour in the morning or extra hours at night on certain days for folks staying on-site :)

In the morning EMH you are asked to show your resort room keys before entering.

For the evening EMH just before normal park closure cast members start to hand out wrist bands at various locations around the parks and at the entrance. You need to show your resort keys to get a wrist band.

Most rides and attractions are open during the EMHs :)

If you don't intend to take advantage of the morning EMH then it's best to avoid that park because they tend to be busier :)

We always try avoid EMH. Unfortunately not easy some trips. Just been planning our Easter trip. Every day from 16th-31st Mar has EMH for MK.

Just to add, we have tried a couple of early morning EMH - Epcot and Studios. We found both pretty much a waste of time.

In Epcot everyone headed straight to Test Track, Mission: Space or Soarin', so even with it being EMH the lines were long and Fastpasses had return times of late morning!

The evening ones, we found better. Especially MK, the later it got the less poeple were in the park and the lines got smaller. Perhaps folks with younger children were leaving.

After a couple of very crowded experiences we avoid EMH's like the plague, also most guide books etc will advise to not attend them too :thumbsup2

I only attended one in the end last year, an evening at MGM and it was very very busy.

I've always quite enjoyed the EMH, especially when they are in the morning. Granted the parks tend to be busier overall on those days, but if you get in the line early and have a set plan of where you want to go first thing and what you want to do then it can be a great head start on the day.

In MGM for example you can head straight over to RnR Coaster and TOT get a fastpass for one and ride the other and generally by the time you come off you can just walk straight around to the other and use the FP. You can then get a spot of breakfast and do the rest of the park at your leisure.

Hi

We love EMH, especially the mornings were we can do the majority of the park before returning to our resort for a swim and relax before heading out late afternoon.

We usually go at Easter and have found EMH invaluable.

I find them to be a mixed experience. We went to EMH evenings at MGM twice. One night was lovely and quiet, then the second time, while quieter than during the day, was still very busy and perhaps not necessarily worth while doing. It seems to be pot luck - we've had quieter and busier EMHs. :confused3

We do the morning EMH's usually for the first week, when we're awake early.
We went to AK EMH's the first week of our hol & it was great did EE 5 times, the 2nd week we were not up early enough so did the day after EMH's as is often suggested & found it really busy as there were lots of school trips. I'd give it a try & see if it works for you.

We avoid the mornings but the evenings can be greAT. Animla Kingdom takes on a whole new feeling in the dark, espcially the Rapids

Rob

We generally do EMH - ride the popular rides with also a fast pass, then leave the park after a couple of hours, usually also do the park for EMH evening on the same day. I know this is burning the candle at both end but........hey! your in Disney :yay:
We usually recoup the next day with a tour of the shops :lmao:
