Some info on the extra Disney Tours you can take. Two of our party took the Backstage Magic tour, which lasted 7 hours and included lunch at Mama Melroses Italian Restaurant. For the price of the tour, it was not a good value. We were bored with most of it. I expected to see more of the techniques used in the attractions but instead we were shown how they make and design costumes and where the Cast Members come in and get their uniforms or costumes. Just that part was about 3 hours of the day and we were really bored. I do not recommend this tour unless you are a die hard Disney fan who wants to know about costuming.
Three of our party took the Dolphins in Depth tour, which was excellent. They only take 8 people on the tour and you get to learn about the dolphins and learn the hand motions that are used to ask the dolphins to perform various activities. You get a great t-shirt and a photo of yourself in the water holding a dolphin. It is only 3.5 hours long. It was well worth the extra cost and all three of our group who went greatly enjoyed the experience. It is held inside so no need for sunscreen. They provide wet suits for your encounter with the dolphins.
