Hi,
Just want to know from some of you disney experts when would you choose to go to disney during the year but only during the two dates that i have given you....If you had only two times a year to book a vacation and they were either the first two weeks of July or two weeks in December around Chrismtas to January first...What week do you think is the best time of the year to go to disney...Choices, Choices....My family has only been to disney once and that was during Chrismtas time which was great but wondering if maybe we should change it to July instead...Please give the good and the bad reasons not to visit at these times of the year....Thanks

I haven't gone to WDW during either time you listed. I know I couldn't go during the summer because of the brutal heat and humidity.

We have been to WDW during early Dec. several times and the weather is more to our liking. I would think the crowds would be heavy during either one of your choices.

how old are your kids? If they are small, I would go in July, because the hours are much longer and you can easily take hotel breaks in the afternoon and get back in plenty of time to see everything.

Have went first part of July twice and Christmas week and week after once.I would ay we would prefer Christmas time over July. The heat is bad in July and combine that with huge crowds and it can wilt you if your not careful. With rest periods and plenty of fluids you can still have a great time.We love the holiday decorations and shows at Christmas time and weather is good can vary from hot to cold but most of the time great touring weather.::yes:: :wave2:

It's kinda apples and oranges. I would go for December and try to go the week before Christmas. Crowds will be building each day, but you won't melt in the heat, and the decor at WDW during the holidays is awesome.:earsboy:

Check hours (already posted for December) for week before Christmas and the week before that. The hours should be the same as the summer months so there would be no advantage to summer, only disadvantage of heat and humidity. The crowds are probably similar during second week of December and most any week of summer with exception of July 4th.

Hi,
My boys are ages 6 and 13....Thanks

July =HOT , HOT, HOT CROWDED, CROWDED, CROWDED

Dec, Cool, Cool, Cool, Not Crowded, Not Crowded, Not Crowded.

if your boys like to swim i would go during the summer and book a hotel that has a nice pool/slide that way at night you can enjoy the pool and in the afternoon also....

I believe the OP was asking about the LAST two weeks in December. These weeks are hardly "Not Crowded"!

The summer is definitely hot for people who are not used to it. The crowds are pretty healthy throughout the summer. July 4th, of course, is really bad.

The Christmas decorations are nice at WDW, but I used to visit Florida for the weather. December can be pretty chilly.

I have never visited in the summer so cant speak to that, except I have always avoided it because I know it would be busy.

As for the last 2 weeks of December, I know that from about 5 days before Christmas through January 1st or 2nd is probably the BUSIEST time at WDW.

Good Luck with either of those choices. If you could go in January to February you'll have smaller crowds.

Not probably, this IS the BUSIEST time of the year at WDW!

Been there, done that...and doing it again starting 12/18/04!

I'd rather deal with cool and crowded than hot and crowded. Personally, I wouldn't go to Disney during either of the OP's choices but if I absolutely had to pick, it would be December.

I would choose July..We have been to Disney in the summer for 2 weeks for the last 7 years because of the kids in school and we did not want to pull them out.. The summer is very hot but the parks are open later at night so you can go back to the hotel at noon for a nap or a swim..This makes for a very relaxing vacation..We have gone the second 2 weeks in July 4 times and had a great time.Definitely use fast pass...Two weeks gives you enough time to do it all at a slow pace. Just drink alot of water and bring ponchos or umbrellas for the afternoon showers.

i really like july. the crowds don't bother me, in fact i renjoy seeing tons of people it makes it feel more disney to me!
