Hello I am new to the disboards postings i am trying to find out if any has done a
escape wedding and how was it. what venue did you choose.

:welcome: to the Weddings board!

You will get lots of information and advice here...many of the brides here have done the Escape wedding at nearly all of the locations.

I was married (when it was still the "Intimate" wedding) at Sea Breeze Point. It was just DH and me and it was easily the most magical fairy-tale wedding I could ever have imagined!!!

We pretty much did the package "as-is" and I would do it all again with only minor changes (maybe add characters, the MK photo shoot...)

Are you thinking about an Escape wedding?

Thanks for the info. Yes my BF & I are looking into different options from DCL, Escape or Swan & Dolphin I liked the the escape idea however i was just unsure if the basic package made it feel like a real wedding or did it seem cheap. I really appreciate the info.

No worries...

The Escape package can be many things but cheap is definitely not one of them.;)

It will most definitely feel like a real wedding. The only thing that isn't included in the Escape package is the full reception, but many brides find other ways to have something like that (dessert parties, private dining arrangements, etc.)

In many cases, the Escape package is just like most other destination weddings in Vegas, Jamaica, almost anywhere.

The Wishes package (which includes the full reception) is more like a traditional "at-home" wedding with all the trimmings.

Hi there! I am having an escape wedding this Decmber at Sea Breeze Pointe. I love how the cake, limo, photography etc are included. I am adding on the Magic Kingdom photo shoot and Mickey and Minnie Formal. I am also going to pay for the flower girl basket. I have 18 people attending (the max).

I have always wanted a small wedding. As you know the base is 4k and my options are bringing it up to about 6.5k.

I decided to splurge and have a dinner at Victoria ALberts and rent the private room. My DF proposed ot me right before we ate there for the 1st time so it has meaning to us. While it is a little pricey, people generally pay much more for their reception at non Disney weddings so that is how I justified it :)

The US average is 28k and that does not include things like the HM and rings and such.

Welcome and yes, there are lots of very happy Escape/Intimate wedding brides on here...me included. Just scan through pj's and you will get tons of ideas. Truely the most wonderful wedding I could have ever imagined ! We stuck pretty much to the basic package, but did add the MK photo shoot and don't regret it for a second. Still wishing we had done Cindy's Coach, but I just couldn't justify the $2700 price tag, no matter how hard I tried. Many brides have done it though and it is just beautiful.

Good luck in planning. Check out threads and post as many questions as needed. We are here to share the knowledge. I could have never planned the wedding without the help of fellow dis-brides!:grouphug:

Dawrobin,

When in December because I'm doing the same thing at SeaBreeze Point in December as well. How excited are you? How far along are you in planning? I just started... advice is welcome!

Johanna

Hi Johanna!
My wedding is December 5 at 2:30 at SBP and we have a 5:30 V&A reservation for all of us after.

We booked everything on Dec 5 2007 and signed the contract then. I have just turned in our planning worksheet and confirmed our MK portrait booking. Kathleen (my coordinator) is confirming the budget and will have that to me. I am adding on the MK photo shoot, Formal Mickey and Minnie, and a flower girl basket with yellow roses.

I know everythign we want. I guess we are in the middle of the plannign stages right now.

Send me a private message and I will be happy to go into any more detail to help you out!

FYI - if you are wanting to have the MK portrait session book now. They are not offering them AT ALL the 1st week in December when I am getting married because they are filming the parade. They start again on Dec 9 the day we leave. The 6am was already booked but my coordinator beeged a photographer to take me at 5am. Since they aren't offering them for a whole week I owuld book those ASAP.

Hey Dawrobin,

I tried to send a private message, but for whatever reason it didn't go through. I will try again later, but I wanted to respond anyway. We've reserved SeaBreeze Point on Dec 9 at 2:30pm. Monday we sign the contract and get things rolling. I know exactly what I want as well, so I can't wait to get started.

Thanks for letting me know about the portrait session. I was planning on doing it, so I appreciate the advice. Also, how hard was it to get a V&A's reservation? Are you doing anything after dinner with your guests?

Send me a message about what your plans are for everything... I'd love to hear. Plus, since we're on basically the same schedule and countdown we should definitely keep in touch. It's nice to have someone to talk to who is going through the same thing!

Johanna

Hey Dawrobin,

I tried to send a private message, but for whatever reason it didn't go through.

Just so you know, you need at least 10 posts before the PM features will work for you.

I do appreciate everyone's help. Yes i do agree without everyone's knowledge this would be a lot harder. :flower3:

can anyone answer a question I have about my Escape Wedding... The only option we have for after cake and champagne is a dinner reservation right? Can we do a dessert party? can we reserve a room at a restaraunt? Do these have to be through Disney weddings or through Disney Dining? I haven't signed a contract yet, so I don't have a personal wedding planner yet, so I thought you guys could help... any advice or answers are welcome!

Hi Decemberbride!

I think you can reach out directly to the restaurant to book the room. That is what I did for our V&A reservation. And I think (but am not 100%) sure that wiht an escape you can still book a DP or Illuminations cruise too.

Thank you! I called group dining tonight and they gave me a date to call back at 7am and book what I decided. They also gave me the number to every place that has a private room. So all I have to do now is decide and then wait to call! I appreciate all your help!

Also, do you think a DP is too much after dinner or something that would be unforgettable for my guests? I'm just worried about overloading them!

Johanna

I think a DP would be an awesome experience. Most traditional receptions last about 4 hours so if you do dinner and a DP you are right about there, maybe a little over. If you can afford to do everything go for it!

From what I have seen on the boards everyone has loved theirs.
