Disney Enchantment To Be Replaced by Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks During Christmas Week at Magic Kingdom

During Christmas week, Disney will not present Disney Enchantment fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Instead, Disney will present Minnie’s Christmastime Fireworks from December 23rd – December 29th at 8:15pm, nightly. Here’s a look at the schedule over the next couple of months:

  • November 8 – December 22 (select nights): Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (10pm)
  • Now – December 21 (select nights): Disney Enchantment during nights WITHOUT Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (8:15pm)
  • December 23-29: Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks during normal operating hours (8:15pm)
  • December 30, 31: New Year’s Eve Fireworks
  • January 1, 2023: Return to normal Disney Enchantment schedule
Disney typically offers much of the entertainment from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for free during normal operating hours on Christmas week, so the departure from showing Disney Enchantment isn’t wholly unexpected, but perhaps would’ve been overlooked if Enchantment was a better 50th Anniversary show. Disney World has shifted messaging on Disney Enchantment from Magic Kingdom’s new nightly fireworks show (read: beyond the 50th Anniversary) to a limited offering during the 50th Anniversary, due to poor guest reception. Disney even updated the Disney Enchantment fireworks show to include more nostalgia less than a year after it debuted.

Oh good, I'm glad they're doing that this year. Last year I was hoping for more of the Christmas party entertainment after the final party, but only the Christmas parade was happening with regular fireworks.

Thanks so much for this update. We are the opposite and DD specifically wants to see Enchantment so we need to go before the last party date.

ETA: Do you all think I should try to talk my DD into Christmas Fireworks instead? Are they as good as regular fireworks? We have seen neither as our last fireworks show was whatever MK had in 2018. We can make our final MK day either 12/21 (last night of Enchantment) OR 12/23 (first night of non-party Christmas Fireworks.) WWYD?

Which one is better, Christmastime or NYE fireworks?!? Right now, we have MK reserved for Dec 30th and Jan 3rd but I wonder if I should change my 30th booking for the 29th?!? We saw the NYE fireworks in 2018 but we never saw the Christmastime ones and Enchantment which we will see the 3rd.

On Dec 30&31, won’t there be two fireworks shows? I would assume, based on past, a show at 6:30 (probably Xmas but maybe enchantment), then at 11:50 the NYE show? I can’t find anything to indicate that yet this year, but past years there were always two shows on NYE (even last year)

I’ve seen both. IMO the Christmas are much better!

In 2018, both firework shows were the NYE ones on the 30th. And the OP message states that the Christmastime fireworks ends on Dec 29th.

It didn’t occur to me that it would be the NYE fireworks twice (at 6:30 and 11:50), but now that I read the message better, that does sound like what will happen. Last year it was enchantment at 6:30 and NYE at 11;50.

Great. I was under the impression this wasn't a thing so I paid for MVMCP tickets just so we could be sure to see this...even though we're there Christmas week. Ugh.

And MVMCP is non-refundable, right? Dang. I should've waited. Oh well.

I feel like even prior to Covid they switched to Christmas fireworks after the last party, usually the 22nd or 23rd.
