Disney electrician arrested on indecent exposure, lewdness charges

But that is just it, the location has nothing to do with it. The family brought the perv with them to the park. They trusted him enough to leave their child with him. He was so slick at this attack that he raised no eyebrows. (Although I am still trying to figure out how he was able to abuse this little girl and 10 minutes later there is nothing to cause Mom alarm). It is not about location, but rather about trust. Be careful whom you trust with your children.

Agreed completely BUT it (anything) could still happen at Sea World and I want the reminder if it happens (fair or unfair to Sea World).

Let me ask this-a little girl was shot and killed at a market in Arizona. Are you more careful at the market because of that?

Look, I was trying to be nice.

Me too. (????):confused3

We're not going to agree on this and IMO neither of us is wrong. I understand your POV perfectly but for me, a very cautious individual as far as my kids are concerned I like to know everything remotely related to places we're visiting and the element of that location.

RE: The squeaky clean persona, we disneyophiles may know this to be "hype" but the average or newbie is being sold this image very strongly.

Re: Sea World, I agree with all the facts as you've stated them but I'm telling you it is important to me that such a thing happened at Sea World and I'm a better informed parent for knowing this. You disagree?

Oh boy you are soooooo right!

I remember a time I traveled to WDW alone and never thought a moment about it - many years ago. Possible now.....probably most of the time....but now a days, what does it hurt to take a little extra care.

I would rather know the truth but as we all know.....some people would prefer to bury their heads in the sand especially when it comes to our beloved Disney. Good for them......I defer to knowledge and caution which equals a stress-free, safe holiday!

Firstly, you're making assumptions about the case. Was he or was he not looking at children? The fact that he was looking at porn doesn't preclude anything else. For me, the fact that he's doing this near a school makes it very ugly, regardless of whether or not he was looking at children. You may be more tolerant of this than I; that is your own opinion -- but you can't, based on the facts of the case, proclaim to know who or what he was looking at and why.

Actually, I am not making assumptions, I am taking what was reported and really reading it. You are making assumptions of the case.

You ask what was he doing this near a school.....define "near" a school. They fail to, which is what I am pointing out. He wasn't at a school or a park, they didn't say that, I didn't make that assumption. If there was merely a school present say 3 blocks away...that is near, but not at and the two are unrelated...which is the point I was trying to make.

No where do they alledge he was looking at children...they are quite specific what he was doing....you are assuming that he might have looked at children.

Now, I am not "based on the facts of this case" making any presumptions, I am taking the facts as they are reported.....not jumping to my own conclusions when a reported uses vague terminology to make it sound worse. It is done on purpose and for a specific reason, to get someone to assume something that didn't happen.....

There in lies the problem, too many people rely on the place and not the circumstances. The point of the SeaWorld story is not that SeaWorld is unsafe or full of child molesters, but what you should take away from the story is that you need to be careful who you leave your children alone with, even for a short period of time.

Again, to my point where instead of informing the public and raising public awareness it is a media ploy to throw out some big name in the hopes of grabbing the headline first. The moral of the story is lost, which is even family friends are capable of abuse.....so the headline readers just see that SeaWorld is unsafe and stay away...while their children are still being left alone with these "family friends".

Look at the rape at Disney by the cast member. Everyone is focused on his job and not the fact that this lady either fell for scam to get a free/discounted vacation......or not to leave strangers in your room while you are going ot sleep, with your children asleep too. This is how child abductions and abuse occur.

As for the above example, you being more cautious at the market with recent crime is usually counter productive. When a major crime occurs, Security is usually increased for a time being and you are relatively safe immediately after an incident. It is the market that never had any problems or issues that are unsafe because they have cut their security budgets and never fixed their cameras...."because nothing ever happens here". :scared1:

Counter productive? I don't get it.

The "market" in my opinion is a 'catch all' comment. After the Giffords shooting I (again) have had talks with my daughters about being observant in any public gathering place (including their schools) ... It's not about the market or Sea World per se, it's that it could be the market or Sea World ... and not just the "bad" part of town.

And that is the point....you are right, it could be the market, Sea World or even your own home.....

Unfortunately, most people miss that point and just keep doing the same things without a second thought....feeling that it "couldn't happen to them".
