Hi we are going to WDW in May and the easter bunny will be bringing my little girls a basket with some kind of disney magic on the basket.. has anyone done this or can anyone give me any ideas?? I was thinking about covering the basket with some fabric with minnie on it.?.

I would get them each a Disney beach towel and use that as the basket. Open up the towel and add sunglasses, flipflops, maybe a bathing suit, a few eggs filled with candy, maybe a Disney gift card for spending money, some glow sticks, something to keep them entertained on the plane, a little stuffed Minnie, and other little trinkets that they can take to Disney with them. Pull up the sides of the towel and tie with a really pretty ribbon, sort of like a hobo sack without the stick. Voila - a Disney Easter basket. I have done this for my niece and nephew when they were young. They loved it.

YEP Did it last year while we were at Disney..and doing it again this year while in Disney.

I bought Disney themed candy...Princess ,winnie the pooh etc...
Disney Sunglasses

The dollar store for disney themed stickers, coloring books...things to occupy them on the trip. Maybe a small inexpensive float ring for the pool..sunscreen...sunblock for the lips. Target spot also has great disney themed dollar items. our walgreens has the disney candy. Maybe hairclips...socks...underwear all these things you need for the trip. Maybe not use baskets but carry on totes for the journey. The disney store sells those Eco friendly totes with characters on it. I also put a little change purse in there with Quarters and pennies for the penny machine.
Alos our hallmark store has a great Donald duck for Easter..check it out. very cute.
Have fun ! and Happy Easter.

We are going in May too. DD5 will be getting a princess basket. Flip flops, bathingsuit, some coloring books, and other things to entertain for the ride down. I am also making her princess shirtswith her name from designs from the deSign board on here.

I was just at CVS this afternoon and they had Disney sunglasses and also Disny light sticks. Even though we aren't going back to WDW until possibly November, I still got two light sticks for the Easter baskets (I might even go back and buy a few more and hide for the future trip!).

There were also Disney plastic eggs filled with stickers and some filled with candy. Always lots of Disney options at the drugstores (CVS, Walgreens) it seems.

last year the kids baskets each had a dvd (toy story and bolt) a tshirt from the disney store, sunglasses, a book, candy, disney dollars, littlest pet shop/cars toys, play-doh, cinderella/cars bubbles, stickers, crayons, etc. most of it was disney stuff but then again DH and i joke that we own part of disney b/c everything our kids like is disney.:rotfl: they won't watch nick nor do they care about anything else. it's HM, HSM, JB, Princess's, Cars, Toy Story, Lilo & Stitch, Incredibles, Nightmare before Christmas, P&F, Oh I could go on, but you get the pic :lmao:. This year I have already got a perry the platypus and a stich race car, each a shirt, disney gift card, and beach ball. DD is getting princess and the frog and DS is getting toy story2. and not sure what else.

we are going at the end of June, so my boys are getting backpacks instead of baskets, with their lanyards, pins, autograph books, glow sticks, ponchos, and anything else I can find that they will need,

Great ideas! I have found lots of Princess stuff for dd 3 1/2 at the Dollar store!:cheer2:

My kids are getting Mr. Potato Head Bunnies - very cute and sold at a store around here for Easter last year....I got them 50 or 75% off and that will be the majority of what's in their baskets for this year.

My DD is going to be 10yrs old this month. When she was 3yrs old, the easter bunny left a princess bracelet in one of the eggs she found that year. She wore it every day but when it was time to put the easter stuff away, she wanted it around the handle of her basket.

EVERY year at easter, she says 'There's my princess bracelet!". She wants to keep it on every year and eventually give her basket to her own DD. I love that!

How many of you use the same basket year after year? I still have my childhood basket. We use it as a centerpiece to hold decorated eggs.

Love the idea of using a towel as a basket...clever!

You can also stuff eggs with Disney items like:

* 2 quarters, 1 penny.....for the penny press

* tattoos

* jibbitz (if you croc)

* goggles (will fit in big egg)

* trading pins

* blank charm bracelet for a girl (collect charms in WDW)
